We are presenting an outstanding opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Sr Systems Developer. In this role, you will play a crucial part in performing the systems analysis, building, development, testing, and support of highly complex technical information system components.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification.
- Previous roles showcasing the proficiencies necessary to fulfil the job responsibilities (similar to 5+ years) or an equivalent blend of education, training, & experience.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure weekly EHR data updates for existing Vestrum panel physicians.
- Integrate new panel members from existing EMR systems.
- Lead the data integrations, ETL process, and database operations based per collaborators requirement.
- Maintain and improve existing integrations while adding new EMR integrations
- Continue to improve automated quality assurance functions to validate incoming data and ensure data is loaded into the warehouse accurately.
- Normalize various EMR data into Data Warehouse and analytical database
- Maintain mapping tables for use by analysts (physicians, drugs, dosage forms and strengths, etc.)
- Link and transform patient activity data into standardized outputs.
- Implement requirements for backup and recovery, ensuring successful nightly recoverable backups of all databases.
- Maintain data base documentation describing data elements.
- Develop new data architecture and processes to improve performance using AWS analytical services.
- Proficiency in Python & Pyspark.
- Ensure database security and compliance with HIPAA, GDPR.
- Manage operations including distribution of weekly and monthly reports.
- Communicate and maintain strong relations with collaborators.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- SQL Server to AWS migration using analytical services.
- Client-focused approach with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize with attention to detail.
- Strong logical, analytical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in web development and scripting languages like Python and Shell.
- Proficiency in SQL and relational database schema.
- Expertise in relational database platforms: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity with server environments (Windows, Linux/Unix), Apache, IIS.
- Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance standards.
- Experience with validated systems and the clinical industry (preferred).
- Project management and leadership experience.
Must Have Skills:
- Health care or Electronic Medical records, Clinical trial data domain experience.
- Expert level SQL expertise.
- Python programming and Databricks (Preferable).
- Experience building Cloud BI solutions using AWS.
- Proficiency in SQL server database technologies including SSIS and SSRS.
- Experience with Data architecture, scalable data processing framework.
- Data Modelling and database building experience.
- Proficient in SQL and relational database advancement.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent documentation and communication abilities.
- Performance tuning and query optimization.
- Leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Jira, Github experience.
- Agile methodology experience.
Good to Have Skills:
- Experience with MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Shell)
- Familiarity with Apache, IIS, and server environments.
- Validated system experience.
- Clinical industry knowledge.
- Awareness of emerging database technologies.
- Familiarity with Tableau or PowerBI is helpful.
- Familiarity with Databricks or Snowflake.
- Experience in machine learning, NLP processing, and LLM is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AWS cloud is beneficial.
