SENIOR STAFF POST SILICON VALIDATION APPS ENGINEER
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a highly experienced Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) to join the Embedded x86 Applications Engineering organization and serve as a technical leader for customer enablement, post-silicon validation, system debug, platform qualification, and technical escalation management.
This role serves as the senior technical bridge between customers, FAEs, Product Management, Program Management, Silicon Engineering, Platform Engineering, BIOS/Firmware Engineering, Validation, Quality, and Customer Support organizations.
The SMTS Engineer will provide technical leadership across complex customer engagements, drive resolution of high-impact escalations, influence validation and debug methodologies, and help define support and qualification strategies across AMD Embedded x86 platforms. The role requires deep platform expertise, exceptional debugging skills, strong customer engagement capabilities, and the ability to influence cross-functional engineering organizations without direct authority.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate is a recognized technical leader with extensive post-silicon validation and platform debug experience, a strong customer-first mindset, and a proven track record of driving complex technical issues to closure.
This person is comfortable operating in highly ambiguous environments, leading root-cause investigations, mentoring engineers, influencing engineering priorities, and representing AMD in strategic customer engagements.
A self-starter capable of independently driving highly complex technical investigations while providing technical leadership to broader validation and applications engineering teams.
