You will be part of a global, cross‑site engineering team partnering closely with factory operations, process/industrial engineering, and corporate IT to deliver reliable, secure, and high‑throughput solutions.

About the role - you will:

  • Design, develop, and support MES backend core services that power high‑volume factory execution (order release, routing, WIP tracking, genealogy/traceability, transaction processing, and system interfaces).
  • Build cloud‑native/containerized services using Java and/or Go, deploying on Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) with an emphasis on resiliency, scalability, and observability.
  • Engineer data access layers and schemas on Oracle and PostgreSQL optimize SQL, indexing, and transaction performance for 24×7 manufacturing operations.
  • Lead technical design reviews, define API and integration contracts, and ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Troubleshoot complex production incidents across application, database, and infrastructure layers drive root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Mentor engineers and promote engineering excellence through coding standards, CI/CD automation, test strategy, documentation, and knowledge sharing across sites.
  • Leverage Generative AI tools and practices to improve application development efficiency (e.g., faster prototyping, code generation, test creation, documentation, and refactoring) while maintaining code quality and security standards.

About you:

  • You are a hands‑on technical leader who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, with strong ownership and a bias for action.
  • You communicate clearly with both technical teams and factory stakeholders, collaborate effectively across functions and time zones, and apply structured problem‑solving to diagnose issues and deliver sustainable fixes.
  • You value quality, reliability, and continuous improvement, and you coach others through design reviews, pairing, and constructive feedback.

Your experience includes:

  • 10+ years of backend software engineering experience delivering enterprise or mission critical systems (manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or similar) with strong proficiency in Java and/or Go.
  • Proven experience building and operating containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes (K8s), including production troubleshooting and performance tuning.
  • Strong database fundamentals with hands‑on design and development on Oracle and/or PostgreSQL (schema design, PL/SQL or stored procedures as applicable, SQL optimization, and transaction management).
  • Experience integrating systems using APIs and messaging patterns ability to define interface contracts, handle retries/idempotency, and ensure data consistency across MES and ERP.
  • Strong engineering practices: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, logging/monitoring, and secure coding.

You might also have:

  • Experience with MES platforms or shop‑floor systems (e.g., WIP/genealogy/traceability), manufacturing domain knowledge, or prior work supporting high‑availability 24×7 operations.
  • Experience with event streaming or messaging (e.g., Kafka/RabbitMQ) and/or API gateways/service mesh in Kubernetes environments.
  • Background in SRE/DevOps practices (infrastructure as code, release automation, blue/green or canary deployments) and observability stacks (metrics, tracing, alerting).
  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and stakeholders across manufacturing sites (Asia/US), including on-call support rotations.
