About the Role
We are seeking an experiencedSenior SQL Developer & Database Architectto lead the design, development, optimization, and governance of enterprise-scaleMicrosoft SQL Serverdatabase environments. This role will be responsible for architecting high-performance data solutions, optimizing complex queries, and supporting mission-critical applications across large-scale systems.
The ideal candidate combinesdeep SQL development expertise with strong database architecture experience, enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing data platforms that support business-critical applications.
Key Responsibilities
Database Architecture & Design
- Design and implementscalable, high-availability SQL Server database architecture
- Definedata models, schema standards, and database design best practices
- Lead database strategy forperformance, scalability, and reliability
- Architect solutions forOLTP, data integration, and reporting workloads
- Establish governance standards for database development and deployment
SQL Development
- Develop and optimizecomplex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions
- Designefficient indexing strategies and query optimization techniques
- Builddata pipelines and ETL processesusing SQL Server tools
- Troubleshoot and resolveperformance bottlenecks and production issues
- Implementdata validation and integrity mechanisms
Performance Optimization
- Monitor and optimizequery execution plans, indexing, and database performance
- Implementpartitioning, indexing strategies, and caching mechanisms
- Conductdatabase tuning and capacity planning
- Ensure optimal performance forlarge-scale transactional systems
Data Integration & Automation
- Design and maintainETL/ELT processes
- Integrate databases withenterprise applications and APIs
- Implementautomation for database maintenance, monitoring, and deployments
- Supportdata migration and modernization initiatives
Security & Governance
- Implementdatabase security best practices
- Manageaccess control, encryption, and auditing
- Ensure compliance withenterprise data governance policies
Collaboration & Leadership
- Collaborate withapplication developers, architects, and DevOps teams
- Providetechnical leadership and mentoringfor SQL developers
- Participate inarchitecture reviews and system design discussions
- SupportAgile development teams and CI/CD data workflows
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience inSQL Server development and database architecture
- Deep expertise inT-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization
- Strong experience withdatabase design and data modeling
- Experience managinglarge-scale enterprise databases
- Proficiency inSQL Server performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Experience withETL processes and data integration
- Knowledge ofhigh availability, disaster recovery, and database replication
- Strong understanding ofdatabase security and governance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience withSQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
- Familiarity withSQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) or BI tools
- Experience working incloud environments (Azure SQL, Azure Data Services)
- Exposure toDevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience supportinglarge enterprise platforms or high-volume transactional systems
