Role Overview-
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will serve as a technical linchpin across three critical quality domains: Tools & Frameworks, Regression, and System Integration Testing (SIT). Operating at the heart of our travel technology ecosystem , you will partner closely with Development, Product, and QA leadership to design robust automation architectures, streamline regression cycles, and validate complex microservice integrations. This role requires a strategic thinker who can balance hands-on technical execution with cross-team mentorship to elevate our Quality Engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities-
- Automation & Framework Development
- Architect & Enhance: Contribute to the design and development of our Java/Cucumber test automation frameworks.
- Scalability and reusability: Implement reusable components and libraries to ensure the framework can handle complex, large-scale travel technology workflows.
- Code Quality: Participate in peer code reviews to maintain high standards for automation scripts and framework code.
- Regression Excellence
- Strategy: Own the regression lifecycle for high-availability Sabre applications.
- Optimization: Continuously evaluate the regression suite to remove redundancies and improve execution speed (Shift-Left approach).
- Defect Management: Perform deep-dive root cause analysis (RCA) on regression failures to distinguish distinguishing between environment instability, framework limitations, and genuine application defects.
- System Integration Testing (SIT)
- End-to-End Validation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Dev and Product) to validate complex integrations between Sabre microservices and third-party APIs.
- Data Strategy: Manage and mock test data required for integrated environment testing.
- Leadership & Mentorship
- Guidance: Provide technical mentorship to junior QA engineers on automation best practices.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends (AI in testing, Contract Testing, etc.) and propose POCs to improve QACoE efficiency.
- Cross-Team Alignment: Act as a bridge between teams ensuring a unified and cohesive quality strategy.
- Quality Metrics: Define and track key quality metrics (coverage, defect leakage, pass rates) to provide actionable insights to leadership.
Preferred Experience
- Travel Domain: Prior experience with GDS (Global Distribution Systems) or airline/hospitality technology is highly advantageous. Good understanding of airline, hospitality, or Global Distribution System (GDS) workflows.
- Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
