Sr. Software Quality Engineer Automation SME

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Sr. Software Quality Engineer Automation SME who is passionate about quality engineering and test automation. This role will be integral part of Software Quality Center of Excellence. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in automation frameworks, a quality-first mindset, and the ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and take sound decisions. Additionally, this role requires leveraging modern AI/LLM tools to enhance productivity in automation, scripting, test design, and result analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable test automation frameworks

• Perform hands-on automation testing for web applications, APIs, and backend services

• Own the overall test automation coverage for all the engineering teams

• Standardize the overall frameworks, tooling, coverage & CI/CD benchmarks

• Collaborate closely with developers, and DevOps teams to ensure CI/CD releases

• Integrate automated test suites with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing

• Analyze test results, identify defects early, and ensure timely resolution

• Mentor junior QA engineers and promote best practices in quality engineering

• Take ownership of quality-related decisions and drive improvements proactively

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7-10 years of hands-on experience in Quality Assurance and Test Automation

• Strong experience with one or more automation frameworks/tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, REST Assured etc.)

• Proficiency in at least one programming/scripting language (Java, JavaScript, Python, C# etc.)

• Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, test design techniques, and QA best practices

Experience working with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)

• Experience in using LLMs for test generations, automation, debugging, failure analysis, self-healing locators

• Hands-on experience with version control systems such as Git

• Strong critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate quality risks and test strategies

• Proven ability to make informed decisions and take ownership in fast-paced environments
