You will be part of the Map Making team that is building a unified platform experience for location-centric workflows. Our goal is to enable customers to seamlessly model, visualize, run, and exchange workflows across open and proprietary data layers, services, and applications. The platform supports both novice users through a web interface and expert users via CLI and SDK. Map Making team is seeking a highly skilled versatile Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Java, Scala, and building robust automation pipelines.

You will contribute to our core backend services and take ownership of designing, building, and maintaining next-generation testing and CI/CD frameworks. This role is ideal for someone passionate about creating tools and systems that boost developer productivity, improve code quality, and accelerate delivery. Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain robust CI/CD frameworks and testing systems.
• Develop scalable, maintainable code for core backend services.
• Create tools and processes that enhance developer experience and code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliability and accelerate delivery.
• You understand distributed systems beyond just writing code, demonstrate seniority by prioritizing system stability and monitoring, and have high proficiency in Shell scripting and Linux automation.

Who are you

• Backend Development (Java/Scala): Design and maintain scalable microservices using Java (Spring Boot) and Scala frameworks (Akka, Play). Write clean, well-tested code and contribute to architectural decisions.
• Pipeline Engineering (CI/CD & Data): Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions. Automate build, test, and deployment processes. Work with Docker, Kubernetes, and data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, or Flink.
• Test Framework & Quality Engineering: Lead development of an in-house test automation framework for integration, end-to-end, and performance testing. Embed quality practices into CI/CD pipelines and create tools that empower developers to write effective tests.
