As a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for Diabetes Minimed India, you'll be responsible for the development and maintenance of robust automation frameworks. You will lead all phases of functional and regression testing, driving the creation and execution of automated scripts to ensure the highest standards of application quality and performance for production implementation. This role is crucial in breaking down barriers to innovation and delivering solutions that truly matter in the global diabetes community.
A Day in the Life
You will drive automated testing excellence and software quality by:
- Leading the development and maintenance of test automation frameworks, ensuring scalability and maintainability.
- Integrating test automation frameworks with CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and rapid feedback loops.
- Developing, maintaining, and executing automated test scripts for web applications, REST APIs, and SOAP UIs.
- Collaborating closely with development, QA, and DevOps teams to ensure the highest quality of software releases.
- Identifying and implementing best practices for test automation processes and tools.
- Defining and implementing a comprehensive test automation strategy across projects.
- Analyzing and interpreting test results, reporting defects with clear details, and ensuring issues are resolved effectively.
- Generating detailed test reports and metrics to track testing progress and effectiveness for stakeholders.
- Mentoring and training junior team members on test automation practices and framework usage.
- Participating in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust test scenarios.
- Managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating with other teams to meet deadlines and ensure application quality and performance standards are met.
- Delivering high-quality work consistently and adapting to new challenges as an individual and team member.
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Computer Networking, IT Systems).
- 5+ years of QA testing experience, specifically in creating test artifacts and reporting defects.
- 5+ years of strong automation testing experience, preferably with Selenium, and expertise in Cucumber, BDD (Behavior-Driven Development), and TDD (Test-Driven Development).
- Proven track record of building test automation frameworks and driving efforts for their implementation on web/mobile or service-oriented architectures.
- Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and tools, with demonstrated experience in an Automation role.
- Hands-on automation scripting and white-box testing experience in Java/Python or similar languages, coupled with proficiency in TestNG/JUnit.
- Experience with REST Assured API and SOAP UI automation testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with SaaS products (like Salesforce).
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and DevOps methodologies.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins CI, and the ability to build test pipelines.
- Strong knowledge of Agile testing methodologies and best practices.
- Full understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) principles.
- Understanding of modern web applications, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Web services, and relevant technologies.
