In this role, you will:
- Serve as an individual contributor role in the Global Research and Economics Group supporting Wells Fargo Securities
- Be responsible independently or as part of a team for research direction of industries, markets, and companies
- Provide research coverage with a wide knowledge of the business, marketplace, and clients
- Engage business to provide exceptional service to clients
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Desired Qualifications:
- Academic qualifications MBA / master's in finance from a premier educational institution / CFA / CA
- 4 years of Equity Research experience. Industrial Sector experience is preferred
- The candidate must be flexible to switch sectors as per business needs
- Working with an industry leading Sell Side Equity Research team
- Support lead Analyst in thematic and cross sector research
- Gathering and analyzing large data sets from a variety of sources including company reports and online databases for conversion to crisp research reports
- Building & operating complex financial models for company valuation purposes
- Updating live earnings models, conference call analysis and earnings note writing
- Create and maintain industry databases
- Writing thematic research reports
- Work independently on complex projects and deliver high quality projects
- Strong knowledge of accounting and financial concepts - including understanding of financial and valuation ratios
- Ability to read through financial reports, news, investor presentations, and transcripts and identify key information
- Competence in using key databases - Bloomberg, FactSet etc., including familiarity with extracting data using formulas
- Financial Modeling: Updating financial models for Earnings, M&A, Restructuring, Initiation etc
- Strong Investment Research Writing Skills:Ability to write investment research notes covering earnings reports, sector thematic notes and outlook notes
- Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office Applications Advanced level of Excel and PowerPoint ability. Python, Excel VBA programming would be an added advantage
- Sufficient proficiency in English and ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders globally
