What will you be doing
As the Senior Revenue Manager, your primary responsibility will be to optimize revenue performance across all hotel products, including rooms, banquets, and restaurants. You will lead and implement the hotel's commercial strategy and work closely with the Commercial Director to ensure alignment with revenue targets and market trends. Specific duties include:
- Commercial Strategy Development: Ensure a successful commercial strategy for hotel products by managing room availability, banquet spaces, and restaurant offerings. Adjust strategies according to market trends to maximize sales and revenue.
- Revenue Budgeting: Assist the Commercial Director in the completion of all departmental revenue budgets, contributing to the overall financial strategy.
- Forecasting: Complete the weekly and monthly rolling forecasts based on hotel reservations and market conditions, ensuring accurate revenue predictions.
- Revenue Meetings: Organize and lead weekly revenue meetings to review and execute sales strategies, while ensuring that all teams are aligned and focused on maximizing revenue.
- Sales and Marketing: Ensure the department operates with a strong sales attitude. Promote awareness of sales opportunities within the hotel and ensure teams are motivated to contribute to revenue maximization.
- Team Development: Lead the Reservations and Group Tour teams to ensure effective revenue generation for all inquiries. Provide coaching and support to develop the team's sales capabilities.
- Overbooking Management: Implement and manage an aggressive overbooking policy. Educate the team on overbooking benefits and escalate concerns to the Regional Revenue Manager when necessary.
- System Management: Maintain consistent selling strategies across systems like IDeaS Yield, Fidelio Front Office, Delphi, and HILSTAR. Ensure maximum use of availability controls in all systems and maintain accurate records.
- Pricing and Strategy Adjustment: Continuously evaluate daily revenue and market confidence, providing suggestions for price and strategy adjustments to the Commercial Director.
- System Optimization: Ensure that all revenue opportunities in systems such as Fidelio Front Office, MICROS, Hilstar, HRW GDS, etc., are fully exploited.
- Auditing and Compliance: Audit operating standards and procedures in the Reservations and Group Tour departments, ensuring compliance with company practices.
- Staff Management and Training: Conduct interviews, orientation, and training for new team members. Develop a comprehensive training plan to ensure all team members reach their full potential. Carry out annual appraisals and provide ongoing coaching.
- Forecasting and Reporting: Ensure accurate advance booking counts and forecasting. Complete and analyze month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reports to assess performance.
- Operational Efficiency: Monitor manual and automated yield systems to ensure actions align with property and market conditions. Raise any concerns to the Regional Revenue Manager.
- Cost Control: Ensure departmental operating expenses are within the forecasted plan. Schedule annual leave during low demand periods to maximize payroll savings.
- Policy Compliance: Comply with all company policies regarding rate and space decisions, as well as the procedures established by the Commercial Director and Director of Business Development.
- Additional Duties: Carry out any other reasonable duties as assigned.
