About The Role

Indexnine Technologies is looking for a Senior QA Engineer with strong hands-on experience in automation, API testing, CI/CD, and exploratory testing. The ideal candidate should be proficient in Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, independently test APIs using Postman/REST Assured, work confidently with Git and CI/CD pipelines, identify complex edge cases, and own the complete defect lifecycle through Jira and collaboration with development teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation tests using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Perform functional, regression, API, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Test REST APIs using Postman/REST Assured and validate JSON/backend data.
• Execute and debug automation suites in CI/CD pipelines.
• Manage automation code using Git.
• Identify edge cases, negative scenarios, and security risks.
• Create and manage detailed Jira defects with proper evidence.
• Own the defect lifecycle from reporting to closure.
• Collaborate with developers and Product teams to resolve issues.
• Participate in test planning, requirement analysis, and release validation.
• Improve automation coverage, test quality, and QA processes.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

Automation Coding: Writes automated tests from scratch (Cypress/Playwright/Selenium) using code, strictly avoiding codeless record-and-playback tools.

API Proficiency: Independently tests REST APIs, validates JSON payloads, and verifies backend data states using Postman or REST Assured.

CI/CD & Git Literacy: Confidently manages test scripts via Git and easily executes or debugs test suites within CI/CD pipelines.

Exploratory Thinking: Proactively hunts for negative scenarios, security gaps, and complex edge cases that developers didn't anticipate.

Bug Lifecycle Ownership: Writes airtight Jira tickets with precise reproduction steps and network logs, collaborating closely with devs until resolved.

Qualification

Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
