Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Project Faade Engineer to lead and execute faade engineering activities for a major project based in Congo, Africa. This role demands strong technical expertise, site management skills, and the ability to coordinate across departments and with international stakeholders. The position involves full-cycle project involvementfrom design validation to site installation and handoverensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and technical accuracy. Candidates must be open to relocation to the Congo.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Execution Oversight
- Develop and manage detailed execution plans and installation schedules aligned with overall construction timelines.
- Plan resource allocation for manpower, material, and equipment specific to local conditions in Congo.
- Supervise site engineers to ensure execution is in line with approved drawings and project objectives.
Cross-Department Coordination
- Ensure seamless information flow across design, procurement, logistics, and site teams.
- Troubleshoot coordination issues and resolve interdepartmental bottlenecks efficiently.
Design & Technical Validation
- Review architectural and structural drawings; validate shop drawings for feasibility.
- Liaise with international and local architects, consultants, and clients for approvals and clarifications.
- Provide constructibility feedback and value-engineered solutions tailored to regional site constraints.
Fabrication & Production Integration
- Coordinate with fabrication teams (local or overseas) to ensure timely production and quality control.
- Review fabrication drawings and ensure alignment with material flow plans and project timelines.
Site Installation Supervision
- Lead faade installation activities at the site with a focus on safety, sequencing, and quality.
- Monitor daily progress and resolve technical issues promptly on-site.
- Ensure compliance with local safety norms and quality assurance standards.
Client, Vendor, and Consultant Engagement
- Serve as the technical interface between the client, faade consultants, and contractors.
- Participate in regular progress meetings, RFIs, and technical workshops.
- Maintain professional communication and resolve queries or issues swiftly.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and circulate detailed progress reports, dashboards, and site documentation.
- Maintain traceability of changes, decisions, and communications throughout the project.
- Capture and document learnings for continuous process improvement.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and drafters, especially those deployed onsite.
- Align and support regional site teams in accordance with the broader engineering and execution strategy.
- Promote a collaborative and performance-driven work culture.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Expertise in faade systems: unitized, semi-unitized, curtain wall, structural glazing, ACP, louvers, skylights, etc.
- Experience in international or remote project environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of materials, including aluminum, glass, fasteners, brackets, and sealants.
- Proficiency in interpreting and reviewing architectural, structural, and shop drawings.
- Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
- Adaptability to diverse cultural and logistical environments.
Educational Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Civil, Mechanical, or Architecture Engineering
- A postgraduate qualification in faade engineering or project management is an added advantage
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to relocate to Congo (Africa)
- Demonstrated experience in leading faade projects for mid to large-scale commercial or infrastructure developments
- Prior international project exposure or work in developing countries is preferred
