Deputy Manager – Design (New Product Development) - Experience of Ball Bearing industry
Job Location: Changodar, Ahmedabad
Experience Required: 10–15 years in bearing design (preferably in TRB, CRB, BB, SRB)
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
Budget: ₹10 to ₹13 Lakh per annum
Joining Requirement: Immediate joiner preferred
Role Objective:To lead and manage the design and development of rolling element bearings (TRB, CRB, BB, SRB) for industrial and automotive applications, ensuring technical excellence, innovation, and compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:1. Product Design & Development
- Design bearings based on application requirements, load ratings, speed, and life calculations
- Select materials, tolerances, and fits for bearing components
- Perform bearing life (L10/Lna) calculations and load analysis
- Use design tools such as CAD (Solid Edge/SolidWorks/Creo/AutoCAD) and simulation software (Romax, MESYS, or equivalent)
2. Product Validation
- Coordinate prototype development, testing, and validation (endurance, static/dynamic load, vibration, etc.)
- Interpret FEA and simulation data to optimize designs
3. Customer Interaction
- Work closely with OEM customers for application engineering and NPD
- Participate in DFMEA reviews and APQP/NPD meetings
4. Documentation & Standards
- Prepare and maintain detailed design documentation (2D/3D drawings, tolerance stacks, reports)
- Ensure compliance with international standards (ISO, DIN, AFBMA, JIS)
- Maintain records as per IATF 16949 requirements
5. Team & Process Management
- Lead and mentor the design engineering team
- Manage design reviews, ECNs, and change control processes
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and sourcing teams for DFM/A and cost optimization
6. Innovation & Cost Reduction
- Drive VA/VE initiatives and continuous improvement in design efficiency and cost
