Your Job
As a Sr Platform Engineer, you will be a senior technical contributor on the team responsible for our Kubernetes based enterprise platform that enables application development, deployment, and management across environments. You will design and implement platform capabilities, lead complex troubleshooting and improvement efforts, and raise the engineering bar across the team. You will partner closely with product and engineering teams to keep the platform stable, scalable, and secure, while continuously advancing our automation, reliability, and security practices. You will also mentor other engineers and help shape technical direction within the team.

What You Will Do
- Design, build, and operate stable and efficient platform infrastructure that optimizes service delivery across environments throughout the development lifecycle.
- Drive a consistent DevOps approach across the team, improving every phase of the delivery process and ensuring end-to-end quality across functions.
- Build, evolve, and own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation, and help other teams adopt them effectively.
- Deploy and manage development, testing, and automation tooling along with the underlying platform infrastructure.
- Lead complex troubleshooting efforts: diagnose platform issues, optimize system performance, and implement durable improvements.
- Set up and manage cloud-based tools, infrastructure, services, and environments required for development, testing, and production.
- Own major incidents end to end — coordinate response, conduct root cause analysis, implement fixes, and improve reliability and response processes.
- Strengthen platform and application security throughout the deployment lifecycle by applying security standards, hardening defaults, managing identity and access (authentication and authorization), and partnering with security teams.
- Work and partner with Architects to align platform capabilities with the broader technical direction and architectural standards.
- Assist with backlog refinement and review, and ensure acceptance criteria are clearly defined and delivered.
- Mentor other platform engineers, raise the bar on code, design, and operational quality, and contribute to the team's technical roadmap.
- Create and maintain clear documentation for platform components, runbooks, and engineering standards.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on platform, DevOps, SRE, or cloud infrastructure engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes as part of a broader cloud-native architecture, enabling scalable and reliable platform services.
- Deep background in DevOps practices, including designing, implementing, and operating automated CI/CD pipelines for efficient and reliable software delivery across multiple environments.
- Skilled in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform (or equivalent) to provision and manage cloud infrastructure consistently and securely.
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Bash) for automation, integrations, and platform tooling.
- Solid understanding of security standards and best practices, and how to apply them across the platform and deployment lifecycle.
- Strong experience with Git or other version control systems and modern branching/release workflows.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, and to explain technical trade-offs clearly.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Application development experience — prior experience building or contributing to production applications, and the ability to bring an application-developer perspective to platform tooling, APIs, and integrations.
- Experience working with monitoring and observability tooling, including the GLTM stack (Grafana, Loki, Tempo, Mimir), to support platform reliability and developer self-service.
- Experience with multiple major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Relevant certifications, such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or cloud-specific certifications.
- Experience working in high-performing Agile teams that leverage tools such as GitLab and Jira to manage priorities and governance.
- A track record of incrementally evolving platforms and tooling to better support the organization's strategy.
- Knowledge and understanding of SDLC methodology and agile software development.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and assess and adjust quickly to changing priorities.
- A drive for improvement and an inclination to thoughtfully challenge the status quo.
