THE ROLE:
The high-speed layout team is responsible for layout of the physical hardware that delivers the autonomous driving
capability, high performance computing and infotainment experience to Tesla vehicles and Tesla Super Computer AI. The team designs the complex, high speed printed circuit boards that delivers on computation performance while meeting
efficiency, cost and reliability. We are looking for a PCB Librarian to build the components for our products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Hardware ownership: implement effective librarian practices to perform at an expert level, building our schematic library logic symbols and PCB footprints to support complex high speed printed circuit board from proof of concept to mass production.Communication: work effectively with cross functional teams to ensure design requirements are met. This includes, but is not limited to, engineering, mechanical, manufacturing and testing.Effectiveness: optimize Cadence library to minimize DFM/DFT issues as indicated by vendors.Support: PLM tool background to support team activities and improve processes.
REQUIREMENTS:
8+ years of experience building schematic symbols and part footprints, Cadence software preferably.Knowledgeable about part building to IPC standards.Experience with IPC standards and practice. CID an asset.Experience with Cadence software installation, process and troubleshooting with the Cadence EDM tools.Good understanding of 3D CAD and mechanical Design is a plus.Experience with Cadence 3D ECAD/MCAD Tool an asset.Experience with Cadence Allegro, knowledge of Cadence DE-HDL/System Capture design flow an asset.Comprehensive understanding regarding the main issues of part specification.Excellent communication skills with strong initiative and the ability to work in a highly collaborative, team environment.Knowledge of SKILL or TCL programming a plus.
