Global Business Services

Global Business Services delivers Technology and Operations capabilities to Lines of Business and Staff Support Functions of Bank of America through a centrally managed, globally integrated delivery model and globally resilient operations.

In India, we are present in five locations and operate as BA Continuum India Private Limited (BACI), a non-banking subsidiary of Bank of America Corporation and the operating company for India operations of Global Business Services.

Process Overview.

ECM is a global team of more than 100 professionals responsible for the efficient and prudent management of the Corporation's as well as its subsidiaries capital across the enterprise globally. ECM implements the Board's capital management strategy including issuance, redemption or repurchase of common stock and other capital instruments. ECM works closely with lines of business and guides them to efficiently and proactively manage the enterprise's capital including design and implementation of capital allocation methodologies. ECM also recommends capital related financial resource limits to senior management. In addition, ECM produces and monitors regulatory capital metrics including capital adequacy ratios, leverage exposure and risk-weighted assets and oversees the end to end capital measurement process across the enterprise. Partnering with other control functions, ECM manages external disclosures related to capital management including 10Q, 10K, Pillar 3 disclosures and other regulatory filings‎. ECM interfaces with banking regulators globally on all capital related matters.

In our rapidly changing banking environment the individual in this role will be expected to maintain policies and procedures for capital reporting as well have capital production responsibilities. They will learn to identify opportunities to enhance tools and processes and create documentation supporting those enhancements. The ability to coordinate projects to bring about change in processes and procedures, quantify the results of such change and communicate these enhancements across ECM, Technology and Compliance is important. Strong quantitative, analytic and communication skills as well as familiarity with banking products are needed.

Job Description.

This role requires a Market Risk and Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) subject-matter expert to support the implementation of the US FRTB regulatory framework. The individual will develop an end-to-end understanding of FRTB and market risk capital calculations, including the underlying methodologies, models, data, systems, and key capital drivers.

The role will partner closely with ECM Markets, Finance, business owners, model developers, Model Risk Management, Global Risk Analytics, Technology, and other control functions to interpret regulatory requirements, assess implementation impacts, coordinate model and process changes, and ensure accurate and timely delivery.

The individual will also be responsible for supporting model governance and lifecycle activities, preparing model review documentation for senior management approval, testing complex calculation logic and large datasets, investigating capital movements and clearly communicating key findings and implementation risks to stakeholders.

Responsibilities.

  • Support the end-to-end implementation of the US FRTB regulatory framework, ensuring alignment with applicable market risk capital requirements and internal implementation standards.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the firm's FRTB capital calculations, including methodologies, models, data flows, systems, controls, and key capital drivers.
  • Interpret US FRTB regulatory requirements and translate them into clear business, model, data, technology, and governance requirements.
  • Partner with ECM Markets, Finance, business owners, model developers, Model Risk Management, Global Risk Analytics, Technology, and other control functions to coordinate implementation activities and resolve issues.
  • Support the implementation and testing of FRTB calculation methodologies, model enhancements, data transformations, and system changes across the end-to-end capital process.
  • Perform quantitative analysis and testing of complex calculation logic and large datasets to validate the accuracy and completeness of FRTB capital results.
  • Analyze capital movements, identify underlying drivers and anomalies, and communicate findings and potential implementation impacts to relevant stakeholders.
  • Support the development and maintenance of process documentation, procedures, controls, testing evidence, and implementation governance materials.

Requirements.

Education.

Post-graduate degree in Maths / Stats / Quants, B.E./CFA/FRM/CQF

Certifications If Any - NA

Experience Range.

8-10 yrs

Foundational skills.

  • Strong quantitative modelling background
  • Deep understanding of Market Risk/FRTB calculations and US/Basel 3 capital rules
  • Ability to understand complex business processes and breakdown into simple process components.
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, ability to build strong rapport, respect and trust with key stakeholders and constituents.
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a fast-paced, every-changing, highly collaborative environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, and good with numbers
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (particularly MS Excel, Word, Visio, PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python is required AI experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility in joining meetings during US time zone hours.
  • Strong Excel skills and Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
