Founded by IIT Kanpur and NIFT alumni with deep industry expertise, Thimblerr is backed by leading investors and currently serves clients across 5 countries and growingPosition OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Sr. Manager -Sourcing & Merchandising to lead sourcing operations and merchandising execution across our apparel supply chain.The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in vendor management, product development, costing, fabric sourcing, production coordination, and client handling within the apparel industry. This role requires someone who can efficiently manage end-to-end sourcing and merchandising operations while ensuring quality, timelines, and profitability.

  • Women's Western Wear (Tops, Dresses, Shirts & Blouses, Bottoms)
  • Flat Knits
  • Woven Garments
  • Knit Garments
  • Casual Wear
  • Workwear Garments

Experience in managing product development, sourcing, costing, vendor management, and production execution across these categories will be preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & Vendor Management

  • Identify, onboard, and manage garment factories, fabric mills, trim suppliers, and vendor partners.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers to ensure cost competitiveness, quality, and timely deliveries.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations, factory visits, and capability assessments.
  • Negotiate pricing, MOQ, lead times, and commercial terms with vendors.

Merchandising & Product Development

  • Manage the end-to-end merchandising process from development to final shipment.
  • Coordinate with clients, design teams, sourcing teams, and factories for smooth execution of orders.
  • Handle product development, sample approvals, fit comments, and bulk production follow-ups.
  • Ensure accurate costing, order tracking, T&A management, and timely execution.
  • Monitor production status and proactively resolve delays or operational bottlenecks.

Cross-functional Coordination

  • Work closely with quality, production, and logistics teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards and client expectations.

Process Improvement & Strategy

  • Drive sourcing efficiency and optimize vendor performance.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Stay updated on market trends, fabric innovations, and apparel sourcing best practices.
  • Support scaling of sourcing operations as the business expands globally.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Production, Textile Engineering, or related field.
  • Preferred institutes: NIFT, Pearl Academy, or equivalent.
  • 10-15 years of experience in apparel sourcing and merchandising.
  • Strong understanding of garment manufacturing, fabrics, trims, costing, and production workflows.
  • Proven experience managing vendors and factory relationships.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and execution mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently for factory visits and vendor management.
