The Senior Quality Manager is responsible for strategically leading and advancing the Quality Management System (QMS) across multiple functions, suppliers, and sites. This role provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and organizational alignment to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, EN 15085, and other applicable standards while driving operational excellence.
The Senior Quality Manager will oversee site-level Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers, lead supplier quality strategies, and partner with global leadership to standardize, harmonize, and optimize quality systems. This role is critical in supporting global growth initiatives, ensuring robust quality governance, and delivering sustainable improvements in product and service quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Quality Leadership
- Serve as the strategic quality lead for Loram India, aligning local quality initiatives with global business objectives.
- Develop and deploy multi-site quality strategies that support organizational growth, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
- Provide leadership, mentoring, and direction to site Quality Engineers, and Supplier Quality Engineers.
- Act as a key advisor to senior leadership on quality risks, opportunities, and performance trends.
Quality Management System Oversight
- Oversee the maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO 9001 and EN 15085 QMS.
- Lead integration of QMS elements into broader Integrated Management Systems (IMS) where applicable (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Ensure standardized processes, procedures, and records are implemented consistently across all relevant locations.
- Drive management reviews, audits, and certifications at both site and enterprise levels.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Develop and oversee key quality performance indicators (KPIs) for sites, suppliers, and programs.
- Analyze trends across multiple sites, identify systemic issues, and drive enterprise-level corrective actions.
- Present quality performance data to executive leadership, including risk assessments and strategic recommendations.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of quality metrics across sites.
Supplier Quality Strategy
- Lead the Supplier Quality Management program for the region, including supplier qualification, audits, NCR/SCAR management, and performance monitoring.
- Work closely with Procurement and Engineering to develop supplier improvement plans and reduce external defect rates.
- Establish robust processes for supplier selection, development, and escalation, ensuring alignment with global standards.
- Proactively address supplier risks to minimize downstream impacts on operations and customers.
Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement
- Champion Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement initiatives across quality processes.
- Facilitate cross-functional improvement projects aimed at reducing defects, rework, and cost of poor quality (COPQ).
- Develop standard work, training, and knowledge-sharing mechanisms to build quality capability across the organization.
- Foster a culture of Right First Time and proactive problem-solving.
Environmental Health and Safety
- Oversee compliance with applicable local regulations and company policies.
- Implement the EHS Department's goals and strategies that align with the overall company objectives.
- Investigate and report on workplace incidents.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics and reports to assess the effectiveness of safety programs.
- Manage relevant EHS programs, policies, and training courses and ensure they are effectively implemented.
Leadership & Team Development
- Coach and develop Quality Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers, fostering technical growth, leadership capability, and accountability.
- Build high-performing, collaborative teams that support both site and enterprise-level objectives.
- Influence cross-functional leadership teams to adopt best-in-class quality practices.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field (Masters preferred).
Experience:
- 710 years of progressive experience in Quality Management, with multi-site, supplier quality, or global leadership responsibilities.
- Demonstrated success in leading ISO 9001 and EN 15085 certification programs and large-scale audits.
- Proven track record of leading CAPA, SCAR, and supplier quality programs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses/Certifications:
- Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 (and EN 15085 if applicable).
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification or equivalent.
- ASQ certifications (e.g., CQE, CMQ/OE) preferred
