Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Purchase, Planning & Warehouse Leadership
  • Lead end-to-end Purchase, Material Planning, Production Planning, Warehouseand Logistics functions for EMS operations.
  • Develop supply-chain strategies aligned with customer forecasts, production plans,NPI requirements, revenue targets, and working-capital objectives.
  • Establish robust S&OP / demand-supply planning processes to balance customerdemand, material availability, capacity, and inventory.
  • Drive KPI governance through daily, weekly, and monthly reviews with clearownership and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate closely with Program Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality,Finance, Sales, and Customer teams.
  • Purchase & Procurement Management
  • Own procurement of electronic components, PCB/PCBA materials,electromechanical parts, mechanical parts, cables/wire harnesses, packaging andconsumables.
  • Develop sourcing strategies for critical components including semiconductors, ICs,connectors, passives, displays, power electronics, and long-lead-time materials.
  • Ensure competitive sourcing through RFQ, price benchmarking, negotiation, costbreakdown and supplier comparison.
  • Drive Purchase Price Variance (PPV) improvement and year-on-year costreduction.
  • Establish supplier contracts, LTAs, rate agreements, MOQ/SPQ optimization,payment terms, and delivery agreements.
  • Manage AVL/AML compliance and ensure procurement only from approved andtraceable sources.
  • Control risks related to counterfeit components, allocation, obsolescence,EOL/PCN and supply shortages.
  • Develop alternate/local suppliers to improve localization, reduce lead time, andmitigate single-source dependency.
  • Ensure PO release, acknowledgement, delivery follow-up, escalation, and closurethrough ERP/SAP.
  • Material Planning & MRP
  • Own MRP execution based on customer forecast, firm orders, BOM, inventory, openPOs, lead times, MOQ/SPQ and production requirements.
  • Ensure material availability to achieve 100% production plan adherence andcustomer OTD.
  • Establish clear planning horizons: forecast, firm, frozen, and execution windows.
  • Monitor shortages through material shortage reports, exception messages andshortage dashboards.
  • Conduct daily shortage reviews for critical production requirements and drive supplierrecovery plans.
  • Optimize safety stock, reorder levels, lead times, and inventory parameters based ondemand variability and supply risk.
  • Control excess purchasing caused by forecast changes, MOQ, incorrect MRPparameters, or engineering changes.
  • Manage ECN/ECO-driven material changes, phase-in/phase-out, alternate parts,and revision control.
  • Ensure effective planning for customer-supplied, consigned, bonded, and locallyprocured materials.
  • Production Planning & Control
  • Prepare Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, materialreadiness, capacity, manpower, and equipment availability.
  • Convert customer requirements into monthly, weekly, and daily production plans.
  • Ensure synchronization between SMT, THT/PTH, box-build, system assembly,testing and packing operations.
  • Conduct capacity planning considering SMT line capacity, cycle time, UPH,changeovers, shifts, tooling, test capacity, and bottlenecks.
  • Track Plan vs Actual production and initiate recovery plans for deviations.
  • Coordinate priorities across multiple customers and high-mix/low-volume or highvolume EMS programs.
  • Improve schedule stability and minimize frequent production changeovers caused bymaterial shortages or planning gaps.
  • Ensure NPI builds, pilot runs, ramp-ups, and mass-production requirements areproperly planned.
  • Inventory & Working Capital Management
  • Own inventory performance across Raw Material, WIP, Finished Goods, InTransit, Consignment and Non-Moving Inventory.
  • Define and achieve inventory targets in terms of inventory days/DOH andinventory turns.
  • Drive reduction of Excess & Obsolete (E&O), Slow-Moving and Non-Moving(SLOB) inventory.
  • Establish monthly E&O reviews with Program, Engineering, Purchase, Finance, andCustomer teams.
  • Identify inventory exposure caused by forecast reduction, cancellation, ECN/EOL,MOQ, NCNR commitments, and customer schedule changes.
  • Ensure timely customer recovery/claims for customer-driven excess and obsoleteinventory where contractually applicable.
  • Improve working capital through inventory optimization without affecting productioncontinuity.
  • Warehouse Management
  • Lead end-to-end warehouse operations covering Receiving, GRN, IQC staging,Storage, Kitting, Line Feeding, Return-to-Store, FG Storage and Dispatch.
  • Ensure proper segregation and storage of electronic, mechanical, ESD-sensitive,moisture-sensitive, hazardous and temperature-sensitive materials.
  • Implement FIFO/FEFO, lot control, date-code control, shelf-life management, andtraceability.
  • Ensure strict MSD/MSL control including dry cabinet storage, floor-life tracking,baking requirements, and exposure control.
  • Maintain ESD-compliant storage and material-handling practices.
  • Ensure accurate bin locations, barcode identification, labeling, and system-to-physicalinventory matching.
  • Establish cycle counting and perpetual inventory systems to achieve >99.5%inventory accuracy.
  • Control material issuance, return, scrap, rejection, MRB, and quarantine processes.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, storage density, material movement, and spaceutilization.
  • Digital Supply Chain
  • SAP / ERP / MES / WMS
  • Ensure disciplined use of SAP/ERP for MM, PP and warehouse/inventorytransactions.
  • Drive integration of SAP/ERP

  • WMS
  • Barcode/Traceability systems.
  • Ensure BOM, routing, lead time, MOQ, safety stock, reorder parameters, andplanning master data accuracy.
  • Develop real-time dashboards for shortages, supplier OTD, inventory, production planadherence, E&O, and warehouse accuracy.
  • Promote paperless material transactions, barcode/RFID scanning, e-Kanban, andautomated replenishment.
  • Support implementation of ASRS, AGV/AMR and smart warehouse systems wherebusiness cases justify automation.
  • Drive data analytics and predictive planning for improved material availability andinventory optimization.
  • Supplier Performance & Risk Management
  • Establish supplier scorecards covering Quality, Cost, Delivery, Responsiveness andService.
  • Monitor Supplier OTD, PPM, lead-time adherence, shortage frequency, premiumfreight and responsiveness.
  • Conduct periodic supplier business reviews jointly with SQE/Quality andEngineering.
  • Develop Business Continuity Plans for critical and single-source materials.
  • Map Tier-1/Tier-2 supply-chain risks for strategically important components.
  • Develop alternate sourcing strategies for geopolitical, logistics, semiconductorallocation, and capacity risks.
  • Ensure supplier capacity is aligned with customer forecast and future ramprequirements.
  • NPI & Customer Program Support
  • Support RFQ and NPI programs through BOM costing, supplier quotations, leadtime analysis and material-risk assessment.
  • Ensure NPI material readiness before prototype, EVT/DVT/PVT, pilot, and massproduction builds as applicable.
  • Identify long-lead-time and high-risk components during the early NPI stage.
  • Drive procurement of samples, tooling, MOQ materials, and production quantitiesaccording to project milestones.
  • Support Design-to-Cost and Value Engineering initiatives through alternate sourcingand localization.
  • Ensure smooth transition from NPI procurement/planning to mass-production supplychain processes.
  • Logistics, Import/Export & Dispatch
  • Manage inbound and outbound logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective movementof materials.
  • Optimize freight through consolidation, mode selection, routing, and logisticscontracts.
  • Control premium freight/expedite costs caused by shortages or planning deviations.
  • Coordinate import/export documentation, customs clearance, freight forwarders, andregulatory compliance.
  • Ensure Finished Goods dispatch aligns with customer delivery schedules and OTDcommitments.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs, freight cost as a percentage of sales, transit lead time, andshipment performance.
  • Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure procurement and warehouse processes comply with company policies,customer requirements, statutory regulations, and audit requirements.
  • Support ISO 9001, IATF 16949 where applicable, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ESDand customer audits.
  • Ensure material traceability and compliance with RoHS, REACH, conflict-mineraland customer-specific requirements, as applicable.
  • Maintain strong internal controls for purchase approvals, inventory adjustments, scrapdisposal, and supplier selection.
  • Prevent unauthorized procurement, inventory leakage, duplicate purchases, andtransactional discrepancies.
  • Team Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead and develop teams across Purchase, Buyers, Material Planning, ProductionPlanning, Warehouse, Inventory Control and Logistics.
  • Define clear roles, KRAs, KPIs, competency matrices, and succession plans.
  • Build multi-skilled teams capable of supporting high-mix EMS operations and rapidcustomer ramp-ups.
  • Drive Lean Supply Chain initiatives including Kanban, JIT, VMI, supermarketconcepts, milk-run and pull systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects focused on inventory reduction, lead-timereduction, warehouse productivity, and procurement cost savings.
