Sr. Manager-Public Relations

Key Responsibilities

1. PR & Communications Strategy

• Design and lead integrated public relations strategies that align with MSU's mission and strategic growth.
• Execute national and international media campaigns to enhance brand presence and thought leadership.

2. Media Relations & Outreach

• Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, influencers, and media houses.
• Manage media briefings, interviews, public statements, and act as university spokesperson when needed.
• Drive consistent earned media coverage through pitching, press releases, story placement, and media kits.

3. Content Development & Thought Leadership

• Draft and oversee high-quality communication assets including:
• Press releases, speeches, op-eds, white papers, FAQs, and leadership briefs.
• Shape narratives around MSU's achievements in education, skilling, innovation, and policy advocacy.

4. Reputation Management & Crisis Communication

• Design a robust crisis communication protocol.
• Monitor public sentiment and respond to potential risks or reputational challenges with clarity and control.

5. Internal Collaboration & Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor an in-house PR team and coordinate with external PR agencies and communication partners.
• Work closely with digital marketing, content, and leadership teams to ensure brand consistency.

6. Monitoring, Reporting & Insights

• Track media coverage, sentiment, and engagement using tools like Meltwater, Cision, Google Alerts, etc.
• Analyze PR performance metrics and present actionable insights to the leadership team.
