Designation – Sr. Manager - Maintenance

About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager – Maintenance to lead the maintenance function across our high-volume print manufacturing operations. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring maximum equipment availability, reliability, efficiency, and safety across all production facilities. This role requires strong expertise in industrial maintenance, preventive maintenance systems, utilities management, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in maintaining large-format printing machines, digital printing equipment, finishing machines, electrical systems, utilities, and plant infrastructure while driving operational excellence and minimizing downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Strategy & Operations
- Lead and manage the complete maintenance function for production machinery, utilities, and plant infrastructure.
- Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance programs to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Drive equipment reliability initiatives to maximize uptime and production efficiency.
- Monitor machine health, analyze recurring failures, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Establish maintenance KPIs including MTTR, MTBF, equipment availability, downtime, and maintenance costs.
Production Equipment Management
- Ensure effective maintenance of large-format printing machines, digital printing equipment, cutting machines, finishing equipment, and related production assets.
- Oversee troubleshooting and root cause analysis of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation-related issues.
- Coordinate machine installations, commissioning, upgrades, and modernization projects.
- Ensure availability of critical spare parts and maintenance consumables.
Utilities & Infrastructure Management
- Manage plant utilities including electrical systems, compressors, DG sets, HVAC systems, air handling units, fire safety systems, and water management infrastructure.
- Ensure uninterrupted utility support to manufacturing operations.
- Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving initiatives.
Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance engineers, technicians, and supervisors.
- Establish performance standards and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Conduct technical training programs to enhance team capabilities and maintenance best practices.
Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities for maintenance cost reduction without compromising reliability and safety.
- Utilize maintenance management systems for planning, scheduling, and performance tracking.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Lead maintenance safety audits and ensure adherence to EHS guidelines.
- Maintain complete documentation of maintenance activities, equipment history, and compliance records.
- Support internal and external audits related to maintenance and facility management.
Vendor & Project Management
- Manage relationships with OEMs, contractors, and service providers.
- Evaluate vendor performance and negotiate service agreements.
- Lead maintenance-related CAPEX projects and facility enhancement initiatives.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree or additional certifications in Maintenance Management, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Reliability Engineering will be an advantage.
Experience
- 10–15 years of progressive maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
- Minimum 4–5 years in a leadership role managing maintenance teams.
- Experience in printing, packaging, signage, digital printing, textile, FMCG, engineering, or high-speed manufacturing industries preferred.
- Proven experience in handling large-scale automated production equipment and utilities.
