Active Directory (AD) L4 Engineer / SME

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Active Directory (AD) L4 resource with strong expertise in enterprise Windows infrastructure, identity management, and directory services. The candidate will be responsible for designing, managing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex AD environments, ensuring high availability, security, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support large-scale enterprise Active Directory environments.
  • Perform administration of:
    • Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS)
    • Group Policy Management
    • DNS, DHCP
    • LDAP and Kerberos authentication
  • Handle AD replication, trust relationships, FSMO roles, and domain controller management.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex AD and authentication issues.
  • Implement and manage:
    • Azure AD / Hybrid Identity
    • Azure AD Connect
    • Single Sign-On (SSO)
    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
  • Perform AD hardening, security reviews, and privilege access governance.
  • Manage identity lifecycle processes and access controls.
  • Support disaster recovery, backup, restoration, and failover activities for AD infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure, security, cloud, and application teams for integrations and issue resolution.
  • Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer sessions.
  • Participate in audits, compliance activities, and change management processes.
  • Provide L4 escalation support and mentor L2/L3 engineers.

  • Strong hands-on expertise in:
    • Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
    • Active Directory Administration
    • Group Policy (GPO)
    • DNS & DHCP
    • PowerShell scripting and automation
  • Experience with:
    • Azure AD / Entra ID
    • Azure AD Connect
    • Hybrid Identity Management
    • SSO & MFA solutions
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
  • Knowledge of AD security best practices and hardening.
  • Experience in incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Good understanding of virtualization and cloud platforms.
