Job Description

An experienced and highly hands-on Platform Engineering / CI/CD Lead developer to drive the design, implementation, and optimization of modern CI/CD pipelines, platform infrastructure, and deployment frameworks for both new products and existing platforms at scale. This role requires exceptional technical depth in cloud-native environments, containerization, automation, and high-availability architectures. The candidate will combine leadership with hands-on expertise to ensure scalable, secure, globally distributed, multi-region architectures with cutting-edge tools and high-performing delivery pipelines for a global SaaS environment for enterprises.

Highly hands-on despite being a lead position, and must be comfortable working directly with code, pipelines, infrastructure, and deployments while guiding the team in adopting best practices and delivering results at scale.

Following are the required skills

Platform Engineering & CI/CD Ownership

  • Lead the design, development, and optimization of end-to-end CI/CD pipelines for multiple environments (development, staging, production).
  • Integrate static code analysis, security scanning, automation testing, integration testing, and system testing tools into the pipeline.
  • Ensure blue-green and canary deployments, rollback strategies, and zero-downtime deployment practices are followed.
  • Own the release management process and coordinate with cross-functional teams for smooth, reliable deployments.

Infrastructure & Cloud-Native Expertise

  • Architect and manage infrastructure for high-volume traffic SaaS applications deployed globally.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services
  • Compute & Networking: EC2, VPC, Route 53, Auto Scaling, Elastic Load Balancing
  • EKS: Container, Pod, Services, Namespaces, Node Group, Volumes , Ingress , Auto Scaling , Helm Charts
  • Storage & Databases: RDS, DynamoDB, Elasticache , (Redis/Memcached)
  • Networking & Security: AWS WAF, Security Groups, VPC Peering, Transit Gateway
  • IAM: Role-based access control, fine-grained policies, key and secret management (AWS KMS, Secrets Manager)
  • Monitoring & Cost Management: CloudWatch, New Relic, AWS Cost Explorer, cost segregation strategies
  • Knowledge of multi-region architecture and global traffic management with failover and replication strategies.

Containerization & OS Expertise

  • Strong proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes (EKS) with deployment at scale involving hundreds/thousands of pods.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments for hybrid workloads.
  • Experience in large-scale container orchestration for enterprise or SaaS products.

Security & IAM

  • Deep understanding of Identity and Access Management in cloud and on-premises systems.
  • Experience with Keycloak, OIDC/OAuth2, Okta, or similar identity providers.
  • Proven track record in secure pipeline and environment configuration.

Databases & Caching

  • Strong knowledge of both relational (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB, Cassandra) databases and replication.
  • Experience with caching systems (Redis, Memcached) for large-scale, high-performance workloads.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive DevOps best practices across engineering groups.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and QA to streamline software delivery and ensure reliability.
  • Provide technical mentorship and enforce industry-leading CI/CD standards.

Preferred Tools & Frameworks Experience

  • CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, ArgoCD
  • Testing Integrations: Selenium, JUnit, Postman, REST Assured
  • Security & Analysis: SonarQube, Snyk, OWASP ZAP
  • Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, New Relic, ELK Stack, Open Telemetry
  • Secrets Management: AWS KMS, Vault, Secrets Manager

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication skills - oral, written, presentation.
  • Ability to set priorities, develop and execute a clear and concise plan, and drive execution.
  • Work in collaboration with Cross functional team
  • Take ownership, think innovation and clearly understand problem to handle ambiguities in large projects.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 12+ years of experience in software delivery, with at least 5 years in platform engineering / DevOps leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in building and scaling CI/CD pipelines in large enterprise or SaaS environments.
  • Strong architecture skills for cloud-native, multi-region, high-availability platforms.
  • Experience in large-scale deployments with high-volume, globally distributed traffic.
  • Excellent knowledge of security best practices, IAM, and compliance requirements.
