Job Summary
The Plant Quality Head will be responsible for overseeing all quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes at our manufacturing facility for LV electrical panels. This role will ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal quality objectives. The successful candidate will lead a team of quality professionals, drive continuous improvement, and maintain the highest standards of product reliability and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management System (QMS): Develop, implement, and maintain the QMS to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other relevant standards for LV electrical panel manufacturing.
- Process Oversight: Monitor and control quality processes across all stages of production, from raw material inspection to final product testing.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians to achieve quality objectives.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., IEC, UL, BIS) and customer-specific requirements for LV electrical panels.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process optimization, defect reduction, and quality improvement using tools like Six Sigma, Lean, and root cause analysis.
- Testing and Validation: Oversee testing procedures, including dielectric tests, temperature rise tests, and short-circuit withstand tests, to ensure product reliability and safety.
- Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming materials meet quality specifications and conduct supplier audits as needed.
- Customer Interface: Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related customer queries, complaints, and audits.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate quality records, prepare reports, and present quality performance metrics to senior management.
- Risk Management: Identify potential quality risks and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to mitigate them.
- Training and Development: Conduct training programs for employees on quality standards, processes, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma Black Belt, CQE) is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the LV electrical panel or similar electrical manufacturing industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of LV electrical panel design, manufacturing processes, and testing standards (e.g., IEC 61439, UL 508A).
- Skills:
- Expertise in QMS, Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficiency in quality tools like FMEA, Pareto charts, and root cause analysis.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and quality management software.
- Certifications: Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 standards is highly desirable.
