Main Purpose

• The Sr. Lead Drilling Support is responsible for providing technical, operational, and administrative support for drilling operations.

• Support planning, monitoring, coordination, and reporting activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of well operations in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

• Act as a coordination link between field operations, service providers, and cross-functional departments to ensure smooth execution of drilling programs.

Job Accountabilities

• Assist in the preparation and review of drilling programs in line with operational objectives and approved well plans.

• Work closely with the Head Drilling team for operational planning and support.

• Monitor daily drilling and well operation activities and provide operational support to field teams for effective execution.

• Work with field teams to implement new initiatives aimed at enhancing drilling efficiency.

• Review Daily Progress Reports (DPRs), operational summaries, and performance analysis reports.

• Maintain and review drilling databases, records, and operational documentation.

• Coordinate with Land, Civil, Geological, Production, SCM, and other support functions for operational requirements and execution planning.

• Support budgeting, cost tracking, invoice verification, and monitoring of operational expenditures.

• Analyze operational performance, non-productive time (NPT), and equipment utilization to identify opportunities for improvement and cost optimization.

• Support procurement and mobilization planning for drilling materials, equipment, and services.

• Assist in the preparation of technical presentations, management reports, and operational dashboards.

• Ensure operational activities and documentation comply with statutory, regulatory, and HSE requirements.

• Support the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical standards, and best practices.

• Coordinate with service providers and contractors to ensure timely execution and operational readiness.

• Contribute to technical knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior engineers, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Promote and support a strong safety culture and adherence to company HSE policies.

Skills Required

• Good technical understanding of drilling and well intervention operations

• Knowledge of drilling reporting systems, operational documentation, and performance tracking

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with proficiency in report preparation and operational analysis

• Sound techno-commercial understanding and cost-monitoring capabilities

• Effective interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills

• Strong planning, organizational, and multitasking abilities

• Team-oriented approach with commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience Required

• Minimum 12–15 years of experience in CBM and Oil & Gas exploration and drilling operations.
