Main Purpose:
• The Sr. Lead Drilling Engineer is responsible for supervising and executing drilling operations in line with approved plans, operational targets, and company standards.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory, regulatory, and HSE requirements while supporting Hydraulic Fracturing, Completion, and Workover operations.
• Drive the safe, cost-effective, and efficient execution of drilling and well operations to achieve operational excellence.
Job Accountabilities:
• Coordinate with Land, Civil, and Geological teams for the identification and selection of drilling locations.
• Support the preparation of well plans, provisioning of required tangible and intangible resources, and execution of day-to-day drilling operations.
• Assist in the preparation and monitoring of drilling and well operation budgets.
• Review Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and maintain comprehensive drilling, completion, and workover records.
• Analyze operational procedures and equipment performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Plan and supervise all phases of drilling, well completion, and well intervention activities to ensure timely and efficient execution as per approved programs.
• Prioritize critical operational issues impacting project delivery while effectively managing multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Mentor and guide young engineers and field personnel to enhance technical capability and operational discipline.
• Facilitate the transfer of technical and conceptual knowledge related to Well Construction, Completion, and Well Maintenance to improve production rates, maximize recoverable reserves, and optimize operating costs.
• Ensure all wells are planned and executed in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner.
• Ensure strict adherence to company HSE policies, procedures, and industry best practices across all operations.
• Promote and strengthen a proactive safety culture among crew members and contractors at site.
Skills Required:
• Strong technical knowledge of drilling operations, CTU operations, and pump-setting activities, including planning and execution
• Sound techno-commercial understanding of drilling and well operations
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to interpret and manage complex operational data
• Innovative mindset with a focus on operational improvement and efficiency enhancement
• Strong teamwork and stakeholder coordination skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement, operational excellence, safety, environmental stewardship, and business ethics.
Qualification
• Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
Experience Required
• Minimum 12–15 years of experience in CBM and Oil & Gas exploration and drilling operations.
