Key Responsibilities
1. Merchandise Planning & Assortment Strategy
- Build seasonal and ongoing merchandise plans aligned with brand direction, customer demand, and sales goals.
- Translate moodboards, design concepts, and collection insights into commercial product assortments.
- Track fashion, fabric, and silhouette trends across menswear to refine collection depth and category mix.
- Participate in collection planning meetings and provide data-backed input across SKUs, price points, and category performance.
2. Online Merchandising & Shopify Management
- Manage day-to-day operations on Shopify, including product uploads, pricing, tagging, categorization, discount setups, and new feature updates.
- Ensure all product images, descriptions, and details meet brand guidelines and luxury presentation standards.
- Improve the online shopping journey: navigation, filters, category flow, cross-sell recommendations, and customer experience.
- Work with design/tech teams to implement custom Shopify functionalities and UI/UX improvements.
3. Production Coordination & Supplier Management
- Collaborate with design and production teams to understand garment specifications, costing requirements, fabrics, trims, and timelines.
- Source and negotiate with vendors, mills, and suppliers for materials, trims, embellishments, labels, and packaging.
- Raise and track purchase orders, maintain cost sheets, and ensure timely approvals and quality control.
- Ensure production calendars, sampling timelines, and delivery dates are adhered to without deviation.
4. Inventory Management & Stock Control
- Maintain stock accuracy across online, offline, MBOs, and warehouse channels.
- Monitor stock ageing, fast-moving and slow-moving categories, and suggest replenishments or markdowns.
- Perform regular stock audits and coordinate smooth stock flow between production, warehouse, and retail store teams.
- Forecast demand by analyzing customer buying patterns and sales performance.
5. Order Management (Online + Offline + MBOs)
- Oversee complete order lifecyclefrom order placement to dispatch to final delivery.
- Coordinate online orders, store orders, bulk orders, and bespoke requirements seamlessly.
- Work with MBO partners to manage orders, deliveries, replenishments, and documentation.
- Liaise with logistics partners (Delhivery, Bluedart, etc.) to ensure accurate dispatch timelines and address issues instantly.
6. Pricing, Costing & Margin Analysis
- Prepare and maintain detailed cost sheets for each style, factoring in fabric, trims, labor, finishes, and overheads.
- Recommend pricing strategies for retail, MBO, and online channels based on costing and competition analysis.
- Monitor margin health and ensure all styles meet the required profitability benchmarks.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate cost improvements wherever possible.
7. Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
- Generate weekly and monthly reports on sales, category performance, sell-through, ageing inventory, and customer behavior.
- Analyze e-commerce metrics such as conversion rates, AOV, CTR, and bounce rates to optimize online merchandising.
- Conduct A/B testing for pricing, product placement, and promotions.
- Present insights to senior management to guide strategic decisions.
8. Vendor, Marketplace & Third-Party Coordination
- Maintain active communication with third-party partners such as Shopify developers, Razorpay, logistics partners, and MBO teams.
- Monitor SLAs, troubleshoot operational issues, and ensure seamless execution across all external touchpoints.
- Handle vendor onboarding, documentation, cost negotiations, and quality standards.
9. Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work closely with design, production, retail, content, marketing, accounts, and warehouse teams for smooth operations.
- Support design with sales feedback and insights on bestseller silhouettes, customer preferences, and trending categories.
- Assist the marketing and content team with product information, availability, pricing, and styling notes for campaigns.
Qualifications & Skills
- 15 years of experience in merchandising, production merchandising, or e-commerce merchandising (fashion/luxury preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Shopify, e-commerce fundamentals, and online customer journey optimization.
- Excellent understanding of costing, pricing strategy, garment production lifecycle, and supplier sourcing.
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with analytics/reporting dashboards.
- Great negotiation, organizational, and communication abilities.
- Strong aesthetic sensibility and understanding of menswear and luxury retail.
- Ability to manage multiple timelines, vendors, and production cycles with precision.
