Job Description
We are seeking a
SAP S/4 Functional Sustain to Return (STR) Resource to join our IT team. This role is pivotal to drive global template design, configuration governance, and best-practice adoption across the full
Sustain to Return lifecycle including MRO, Warranty, Exchanges & Rotable Planning. Includes heavy integration with other workstreams for service contracts, quotations, customer repair order management, and warranties.
This leader will serve as the functional design authority for
STR, ensuring scalable enterprise structure design, E2E repair processing, warranty and supporting functions, cross-module integration, and disciplined RICEFW solution governance in a highly regulated, multi-entity environment.
Responsibilities
STR Functional Leadership & Best Practices
- Lead global S/4 STR solution design workshops.
- Define scalable global process templates aligned to SAP S/4 best practices.
- Enforce clean-core principles and minimize unnecessary customization.
- Drive standardization across regions, business units, and legal entities.
- Serve as functional design authority for STR across multi-wave deployments.
Enterprise Structure Design
- Ensure alignment between Maintenance, Warranty, Sales, Supply Chain, and finance structures.
- Support multi-entity, intercompany, and global operating models.
- Enable harmonized reporting across enterprise hierarchies.
Configuration Ownership
- Lead hands-on SAP S/4 STR configuration including:
- Repair processing (Service Orders, Notifications, Inspections)
- Warranty (Master Warranties, Warranty Determination, VSR rules, Claims Management)
- Ensure seamless integration with:
- Sales & Distribution (Repair Sales order and Repair Quotations)
- Finance (R2R)
- Supply Chain & Inventory
- Support high and low volume commercial and Defense & Space repair sites
RICEFW Design & Governance
- Define and govern RICEFW solution design in partnership with technical teams.
- Author high-quality Functional Design Documents (FDDs).
- Ensure alignment to clean-core strategy and minimize technical debt.
- Participate in design authority reviews for complex enhancements.
- Support testing cycles (SIT, UAT, regression).
Cross-Functional Integration
- Ensure seamless integration across:
- Procure to Pay
- Inventory
- Record to Report
- Order to Cash
- Partner with Data, Security, and Technical Delivery teams to ensure end-to-end process integrity.
- Support end-to-end Sustain to Return analytics and KPI enablement (OTTR, TAT, Revenue)
Data & Governance
- Collaborate with MDM teams on:
- Routings and Variant Configuration
- Configuration management data (DIRs, configurable materials)
- Master Warranties
- Material master integration
- Support data migration validation and cutover readiness.
- Ensure documentation traceability and audit compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related field.
- 5+ years SAP functional experience.
- full lifecycle SAP implementations (minimum 1 S/4HANA).
- 3+ years leading functional STR workstreams.
Required Expertise
- Deep SAP S/4 Sustain to Return configuration experience.
- Strong OTC related knowledge (quotes, pricing, sales order processing)
- Proven RICEFW functional design leadership.
- Strong cross-module integration knowledge (SD, SM, PM, MM, QM, WTY).
- Experience operating in SOX-controlled environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace & Defense or complex manufacturing experience.
- Experience in global template harmonization programs.
- Experience in carve-outs or enterprise separations.
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori STR enablement.
