Role Description

About the Role : We're seeking an experienced Database Administrator/Engineer proficient in distributed, inmemory NoSQL caching/datagrid technologiesespecially Apache Geode (GemFire). Candidate will design, implement, manage, and optimize highthroughput, lowlatency caching layers that support backend SQL databases.

A deep understanding of ACID (Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, Durability) principles in distributed contexts is essential. If your background is stronger in Redis, Memcached, Hazelcast, Apache Ignite, Couchbase, Ehcache, or Aerospike, your skills can be transferable.

Position: Senior GemFire Engineer (L3)

Job Summary : Weare seeking an experienced and certified GemFire Engineer with a strong background in distributed caching systems, in-memory data grids, and real-time data processing. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in VMware Tanzu GemFire (formerly Pivotal GemFire) and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing large-scale, high-availability, and low-latency systems.

Key Responsibilities:-

• Architect and manage inmemory NoSQL caching solutions using Apache Geode (GemFire).
• Ensure strong data integrity via ACID-compliant transactional supporttwophase commit, repeatableread consistency, readcommitted isolation, etc.
• Integrate cache layer with backend SQL databases: synchronization, cache invalidation, writethrough/writebehind strategies.
• Develop clientside or serverside logic: interceptors, listeners, compute-grid tasks, continuous queries, etc.
• Monitor, tune, and troubleshoot cache performance, latency, memory usage, GC behavior, and cluster health.
• Design highavailability, horizontally scalable cache clusters with partitioning, replication, failover, and locator services.
• Implement security, access control, and authentication (e.g., via REST, Java, CLI interfaces).
• Create operational tools for deployment, automated scaling, rolling upgrades, and disaster recovery.
• Collaborate with application, backend, and devops teams to align caching strategies with business needs.
• Mentor peers and drive best practices in distributed caching, data consistency, and performance optimization.

Required Qualifications:

• Proven handson experience with Apache Geodeor Pivotal GemFire, including cluster setup, locators, partitioned/replicated region configuration, and transactional operations. Familiarity with cluster discovery mechanisms and clientserver topologies.
• Deep understanding of ACID (Atomicity Consistency Isolation Durability)concepts in distributed caching/DataGrid systems.
• Strong Java skills (Java is primary interface for Geode; familiarity with APIs, interceptors, compute tasks)
• Knowledge of distributed systems fundamentals: consensus, partitioning, fault tolerance.

Job Location: CBD Belapur, (At Client Site : Navi Mumbai)

Total Experience: 8+ years in IT and relevant : min. 05 years on Gemfire.
