Position- Senior Garment Technician
Location- Gurugram

Key Responsibilities:
Product Development Support:
- Work closely with designers to translate children&aposs wear concepts into production-ready designs.
- Ensure that designs meet both aesthetic and functional requirements for childrens clothing.
- Provide technical advice on fabric, trims, and garment construction to enhance the overall product design.
Pattern and Fit Review:
- Review and approve patterns and prototypes to ensure proper fit, construction, and comfort for different age groups.
- Ensure that garments meet the required specifications for size grading and age-specific needs (e.g., mobility, safety).
Sampling and Testing:
- Oversee the creation of sample garments and ensure they meet the required standards.
- Perform garment fittings on models and make any necessary adjustments to patterns and specifications.
- Coordinate fabric testing, including durability, color fastness, and safety requirements for children&aposs wear.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular quality checks during production to ensure garments meet the required safety, comfort, and quality standards.
- Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to garment construction, such as stitching, fabric handling, or finishing.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all garments meet the relevant industry standards and regulations for children&aposs clothing (e.g., compliance with CPSIA in the U.S. or EN 14682 in Europe).
- Ensure garments are free from harmful substances or design features (like drawstrings) that could pose safety risks for children.
Production Coordination:
- Work with manufacturers to ensure that production processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure that technical specifications are communicated and followed.
Cost Control:
- Help manage production costs by suggesting materials, designs, and processes that are cost-effective without compromising quality.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain clear records of garment specifications, samples, and any adjustments made during the development process.
- Prepare reports on production progress, issues, and resolution of any technical concerns.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 10+ years in garment technology or product development, preferably in kids&apos wear.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and sewing techniques.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to identify and resolve technical issues and ensure product quality.
- Communication Skills: Effective communication with designers, manufacturers, and quality control teams.
- Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Familiarity with safety and compliance standards for childrens wear.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in CAD software and garment specification tools (e.g., Gerber, Lectra, or similar platforms).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Fashion Technology, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- Previous experience in kids&apos wear or childrens apparel manufacturing.
Work Environment:
- The role is typically office-based with some travel to factories or manufacturing sites to oversee production.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multiple teams.
