Senior foujs Genero Developer / Sr 4GL Developer
Job Description:
Technical Skills
Programming language: Ideally, they would have 4J's Genero experience (preferred), but open to candidates who are familiar with another 4th generation language such as Informix 4GL, Progress 4GL (OpenEdge ABL), Uniface, ABAP (SAP 4GL), Natural by Software AG.
Database Management: Strong SQL knowledge and familiarity working with relational databases (e.g., Informix, Oracle, DB2, Sybase, SQL Server)
Legacy Systems Integration: Working with older enterprise systems including batch processing, job scheduling (e.g., SFTP and Run My Job)
System Analysis and Design: Reverse engineering old code and translating business requirements into 4GL code
Data Migration and ETL: Experience moving data from legacy systems to modern platforms
Pricing Systems-Specific Skills
Pricing Strategy & Models: Experience with cost-plus, competitive, value-based pricing, tiered pricing, discount modeling, promotions
Pricing Systems Knowledge: Experience with or integrating into systems like: SAP Pricing, PROS, Zilliant, Vendavo or other custom legacy pricing engines
Data Analysis for Pricing: Using historical data to analyze price elasticity; profit margin analysis and familiarity with Excel, SQL, and BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
Business & Financial Acumen: Experience working with finance, sales, or marketing teams and understanding profit/loss impact of pricing decisions
Compliance and Governance: Familiarity with retail and wholesale pricing frameworks and weights and measures requirements
Soft Skills & Cross-Functional Experience
Strong analytical thinking
Clear communication of technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Collaboration with sales, finance, and marketing teams
Documentation and training end-users
Project management or agile methodology familiarity (Scrum/Kanban)
