Role Overview

The Senior Fashion Designer will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing innovative collections that align with the brand's vision and market trends. This role requires strong creativity, technical expertise in garment construction, and the ability to collaborate across teams to ensure successful product development from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design Development & Creativity

● Create innovative, trend-forward designs that align with the brand identity and target market.

● Develop seasonal collections including Western, Ethnic, Indo-Western, Casual, Festive, and Fusion wear.

● Translate trend insights and customer preferences into commercially viable designs.

● Ensure originality while maintaining strong market appeal.

2. Technical Packs & Design Detailing

● Prepare comprehensive tech packs including sketches, measurements, fabric details, trims, and construction methods.

● Provide clear technical specifications to ensure smooth communication with sampling and production teams.

● Ensure accuracy to minimize sampling errors and reworks.

3. Sampling & Product Development

● Collaborate closely with the sampling team to ensure prototypes match design intent.

● Review and approve samples, recommending fit and construction improvements where necessary.

● Ensure timely completion of sampling with minimal revisions.

4. Trend Forecasting & Research

● Conduct ongoing research on global and local fashion trends, fabrics, silhouettes, and color palettes.

● Study competitor products and evolving consumer preferences.

● Stay updated by exploring fashion exhibitions, market research, and industry insights.

5. Fabric & Material Coordination

● Select suitable fabrics, trims, embellishments, and raw materials for each design.

● Work with the sourcing and merchandising teams to ensure timely availability of materials for sampling and production.

6. Collection Planning & Execution

● Plan and execute collections within defined collection calendars and launch timelines.

● Collaborate with merchandising, production, and marketing teams to ensure smooth product launches.

● Ensure collections align with business goals and seasonal strategies.

7. Commercial Viability & Performance Analysis

● Balance creativity with commercial viability to ensure strong sales performance.

● Track and analyze top-selling designs and product performance.

● Use sales insights to refine future collections. 8. Photoshoot & Styling Support

● Participate in photoshoot planning and styling discussions.

● Select the best images from shoots that effectively represent the collection.

● Contribute to mood boards, themes, and styling concepts for brand campaigns.

9. Product Description Support

● Provide detailed product information including fabric details, fit notes, embellishments, and styling suggestions.

● Support the marketing team in creating accurate website and catalog descriptions.

10. Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Work closely with merchandising, sourcing, production, and marketing teams.

● Encourage creative collaboration and improve design workflows.

11. Quality Control & Attention to Detail

● Ensure high standards of fit, finish, and aesthetic quality in all final products.

● Monitor product quality during the design-to-production transition.

12. Reporting & Documentation

● Maintain organized documentation of design developments, mood boards, samples, and references.

● Share regular progress updates and reports with the Creative Lead or Management.

Preferred Qualifications

● Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or Apparel Design

● 5–8+ years of experience in fashion design or apparel development

● Experience in women's wear / fusion / ethnic fashion preferred

● Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar software
