About Target's Merchandising Operations Team
Merchandising Operations exists to be Target's center of excellence for merchandising
execution. We bring merchandising strategy to life through flawless execution, predictable
outcomes, and operational rigor -enabling our buyers to focus on trends, strategy, and
the guest. The team delivers best-in-class operational solutions across the merchandising
ecosystem, including vendor onboarding and learning, supplier performance assessment,
compliance, and reliability. By strengthening both vendor-facing and buyer-facing
operations, Merch Ops ensures clarity, consistency, and scale while elevating the vendor
experience and supporting strong business outcomes.
We are building a new, modern Merchandising Operations organization designed to scale
with Target's growth. This team plays a critical role in shaping new ways of working and
raising the bar for how merchandising execution happens at Target.
As a Sr. Sourcing Analyst for F&B team within Merchandising Operations, you'll own end-
to-end PCE commercialization and post-award Supplier alignment - leading Supplier
communication, scheduling first-production reviews, and publishing PCE task governance
to keep sets reliable. You'll lead cross-functional projects to boost Supplier performance,
optimize the Supplier matrix, and improve margins, while managing Supplier onboarding,
system setup, and chargeback resolution. You'll turn data into action with clear reports
(cost-change logs, reliability metrics, commodity trends and early risk alerts), build
automations to cut manual work and improve data quality, and coach junior teammates to
raise the team's operational impact. You'll have the chance to influence outcomes, learn
quickly, and make measurable improvements.
PCE Commercialization Planning and alignment
Drive the Supplier communication and scheduling post business award leading
to the first production alignment/ review and through the transition. Identify
risks to successful set and work with internal CFT and Supplier partners to solve
or mitigate risks. Publish PCE tasks governance and reporting for reliability
Drive projects on Supplier performance, Matrix management and margin
Improvement. Drive cross-functional projects and initiatives to improve
Supplier performance, optimizing Supplier matrix management, and improving
overall margins. This includes developing and implementing strategies to
address performance gaps, streamline Supplier interactions, and increase cost-
efficiency.
Supplier System Set-up and Onboarding Lead Supplier onboarding through
the submission of new Supplier system requests and the tracking of Supplier
set-up completion. Initiate process, track/confirm Supplier facility registration
in multiple systems and provide resources. Follow-up on any missing
information and escalate as necessary. Lead Supplier chargeback disputes and
tracking.
Reporting and Analytics Pull metrics, conduct analysis and publish reports to
support a range of sourcing activities. Reports may include quarterly Sourcing
Forecast, cost change log, reliability metrics, commercialization reports and
Supplier partner fact-packs. Support cost change reporting, Commodity trends
analysis and early risk reporting as part of OB F&B profitability initiative. Drive
operational rigor by utilizing key performance metrics, including weekly and
monthly reporting and project progress and closure updates.
Continuous Improvement & Automations Design, collaborate in build and
scale automations to eliminate manual work and improve data reliability across
operations and reporting: map end-to-end recurring workflows, prioritize
automation candidates by ROI and risk, partner with Souring/ OB CFTS/ PI&A/
Analytics to spec, test and deploy solutions and track KPIs with quarterly
efficiency reporting.
Team Mentorship & Capability Building Coach and develop junior team
members to raise operational standards and stakeholder influence. Foster an
inclusive and collaborative team environment focused on collective goals.
About You
Graduate or MBA with 5+ years merchandising, sourcing or inventory management
experience, including Supplier engagement/management; food and beverage
Experience Preferred
Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and coach the team in
executing core functions. Capable of measuring progress and process
performance, and effectively reporting and communicating to leaders and teams.
Quick learner with the ability to think strategically and conceptually, and to
transform ideas into tangible execution steps and results.
Strong Supplier management and project management experience, with the
accountability to manage a broad range of projects at different stages of
development.
Comfortable with data, reporting, and insights, with the ability to develop
actionable steps to improve profitability and reliability, and to build reporting
systems that supplement these insights.
Expertise in developing strong partnerships and stakeholder management,
excelling in teamwork, communication, collaboration, and the initiative to influence
effectively across various levels.
Competent in project management, with the ability to structure ambiguous
problems, analyze complex processes, synthesize data, and drive insights and
solutions.
Possess structured problem-solving skills, including expertise in Lean and Six
Sigma methodologies, with hands-on experience in applying process improvement
tools and techniques, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives
effectively
