Key Responsibilities
- Import & Export Coordination
- Handle all import and export operations for international shipments.
- Coordinate with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and agencies for container bookings.
- Decide and select which party/container to use based on requirement and pricing.
- Sea Shipment Management
- Obtain sea freight quotations based on shipment requirements.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders from start to end for sea shipments.
- Finalize container availability, sailing schedules, and ensure timely movement.
- Air Shipment Management
- Create import labels for air shipments as per shipment requirements.
- Coordinate complete air shipment movement from start to delivery.
- Communicate with air freight providers to arrange, track, and monitor the shipment process.
- Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare and verify all required documents including commercial invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, and customs documents.
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws and regulations.
- Pricing & Negotiation
- Negotiate freight rates and logistics costs with vendors and service providers.
- Compare pricing options and select cost-effective solutions.
- Invoice & Payment Handling
- Prepare invoices and coordinate with the accounts team for timely payments.
- Maintain proper record of all expenses related to shipments.
- MIS & Reporting
- Maintain complete MIS data for shipments, costs, container movement, and status updates.
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports for management.
- Coordination & Communication
- Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, buyers, and logistics partners.
- Share shipment status updates and resolve any shipment-related issues.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of international import/export procedures.
- Experience in sea and air shipment coordination.
- Knowledge of container booking, pricing, and freight forwarding.
- Good negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate MIS and documentation.
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, Email, etc.).
