Key Responsibilities
1. Inbound and Outbound Logistics Execution
Freight Forwarding: Coordinate and select optimal freight forwarders for international
shipments, ensuring cost-effectiveness and delivery reliability for imports.
Local Transport: Manage and schedule all local transport (first and last mile delivery),
including full truckloads (FTL) and less-than-truckloads (LTL), to ensure timely pickup
and delivery to the factory or customer.
Daily Transporter Follow-up: Proactively follow up with all transporters on a daily basis
to track shipment status, resolve in-transit issues, and provide accurate arrival estimates.
Material Delivery: Take ownership of the process to get the material to the factory once
it arrives at the port/warehouse, coordinating customs clearance and final transport.
2. Documentation and Compliance
Customs House Agent (CHA) Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for
the CHA (Customs House Agent), providing necessary documentation and coordinating
all aspects of customs clearance for imports.
Tax and Billing Compliance: Ensure proper documentation and adherence to Indian
tax regulations, specifically handling GST (Goods and Services Tax) compliance and
generating the Eway Bill for inter-state movement of goods.
Invoice Management: Collect, verify, and process all logistics-related invoices, including
those from transporters, freight forwarders,Suppliers and the CHA.
MIS: Record-keeping, filing monthly utilization returns on the ICEGATE portal, internal
reporting, ERP entry
3. Specialized Operations and Process Improvement
Inventory Coordination: Coordinate with the warehouse team on expected inbound
and planned outbound material to optimize receiving and dispatch processes.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in the
logistics chain to reduce lead times, lower costs, and enhance service quality.
Team working: Work closely with purchase, planning and accounts team for smooth
logistics operations
