Executive / Senior Executive - Compensation, Payroll & MIS

Reporting to:

Lead - C&B, PMS

SECTION II: ROLE SUMMARY

  • Support the design, execution, and governance of payroll, compensation, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely insights for management.

SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ ACCOUNTABILITIES

Payroll Processing

  • Handle end-to-end domestic payroll independently, ensuring accuracy in salary computation and payouts.
  • Manage inputs such as attendance, new joiners, exits, variable pay, and recoveries.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries and coordinate with Finance for final payments.
  • Validate calculation logic for earning and deduction heads to ensure alignment with company policy.
  • Manage final settlements for resigned employees.

Statutory Compliance

  • Compute and validate statutory deductions including PF, ESIC, Professional Tax, and Income Tax.
  • Prepare and file quarterly TDS return (Form 24Q) on behalf of employer and handle TRACES-related notices.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and compliance reporting.
  • Support year-end activities such as Form 16 issuance and tax reconciliation.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain monthly payroll MIS, dashboards, and reconciliation reports.
  • Generate analytical reports for management review (headcount, cost trends, overtime, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate employee data and payroll master files in HRMS.

Employee Support

  • Act as first point of contact for payroll and statutory deduction queries.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues.

Automation & Process Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements for better accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support digitization of reports, dashboards, and approvals.

For TDS deposits, budgeting, reconciliations, and statutory filings.

External Stakeholder

Purpose of Interaction

Statutory authorities

EPFO, ESIC, Income Tax Department for compliance coordination.

Auditors

For providing payroll and compliance data during reviews.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in commerce / finance / HR
