About the Role
We're looking for a technically hands-on Engineering Leader to head and scale our backend engineering team. The ideal candidate is a strong people manager who can also deep-dive into technical challenges, drive architectural decisions, and ensure the delivery of highperformance, scalable systems built primarily on the Java backend stack.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of high-performing backend engineers to deliver robust,
scalable, and efficient software solutions.
Drive end-to-end design, architecture, and implementation of complex backend
systems.
Ensure best practices in coding, design patterns, testing, CI/CD, and cloud deployment.
Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Architects, and cross-functional teams to
define technical roadmaps and deliver high-impact features.
Conduct regular code reviews, technical assessments, and performance evaluations
for team members.
Balance hands-on development with team leadership guiding teams through
problem-solving and architecture discussions.
Identify areas for performance improvement, automation, and technical innovation.
Ensure timely delivery while maintaining engineering excellence and quality.
Technical Skills & Experience
10+ years of total experience with a strong foundation in Java / J2EE, Spring Boot,
Microservices, and distributed systems.
Experience with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar).
Strong understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
Experience in cloud technologies (AWS / GCP / Azure) and DevOps practices.
Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging systems is a plus.
Proven experience in scaling teams and systems in a product or technology-led
organization.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Good to have experience in leading engineering teams across backend, frontend, and
mobile platforms, though it's not mandatory.
Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills across Product, Design, and
QA.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and decision-making abilities.
Passion for mentoring and nurturing engineering talent.
