Purpose of the Role - To conduct engineering & maintenance activities related to instrumentation systems and equipment as per defined plan, highlight risks on time and suggesting corrective measures, with the objective of maximizing equipment availability, reliability and integrity

Responsibilities -
Policies, Processes and Procedures -
Conduct day to day activities & follow all relevant policies, processes, standard operating procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner
Participate in periodic audit activities to identify gaps and ensure instrumentation system operation and maintenance adherence to group standards, best practices and LFIs pertaining to instrumentation
Follow applicable HSEF procedures/ practices with awareness about environmental statutory regulations and safety protocols
Implement energy conservation initiatives in order to support environmental sustainability efforts
Keep self abreast with leading practices & trends and contribute to the identification of continuous improvement of systems, processes and procedures
Coordinate with statutory authorities. Maintain all records supporting statutory compliance with respect to instrumentation system and equipment
Undertake initiatives for trainings to enhance competencies and participation in training as per requirement
Engineering & Maintenance Operations -
Participate in root cause analysis and ensure implementation of suggested recommendation completion of pending RCAs
Assist with factory acceptance tests (FAT) / site acceptance tests (SAT) in order to verify/ validate the agreed functionality of the instrumentation equipment
Support in technical due diligence for major activities, minor projects, plant expansions and modifications to ensure adherence to established guidelines
Carryout trouble shooting activities and support with respect to critical failures/ issues occurring at site
Review and maintain interlocks and shutdown systems pertaining to instrumentation
Maintain instrumentation testing laboratory; manage repair and refurbishment activities for instrumentation equipment
Provide support for procurement of new instruments; monitor critical spares/ other consumables to ensure availability in case of exigencies
Follow-up on material/ service purchase requisitions pertaining to instrumentation; coordinate with vendor/ equipment manufacturers to ensure timely availability
Maintain integrated management system (IMS) documents for mechanical maintenance to ensure repository of records for review and audit purposes
Predictive and Preventive Maintenance -
Prepare preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and ensure compliance to the maintenance procedures
Manage implementation of standard maintenance procedure and plant maintenance procedures in order to reduce plant failures
Provide technical expertise pertaining to instrumentation operations and maintenance to sub-ordinates
Reliability Assurance -
Support in improving reliability through continuous improvement techniques/ up-gradation/ projects/ implementation of advance diagnostic and online condition monitoring techniques
Participate in tracking obsolescence of current instrumentation systems and equipment; implement suggested renewal plan in order to minimize risk of operating on unsupported equipment
Maintain and maximize reliability and availability of Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Analysers, and various other field instruments at site
Support reliability engineering applied to maintenance (REAM) functions with reliability standards in order to reduce production losses from defects/ failures/ breakdowns
Provide support to assess reliability risks & implement suggested counter-measures to ensure asset failure prevention
Provide inputs to standardize best practices specific to site instrumentation equipment and implement recommended measures
Participate in reliability & integrity studies of instrumentation systems and components to ensure their safe and reliable operations
Education Requirement :
Necessary: Bachelor's/ Master's in Engineering/ Technology in Electronics/ Instrumentation

Experience Requirement :
Necessary: 4+ years of experience in as instrumentation reliability engineer in oil and gas, manufacturing industry, polyester, polymer, petrochemical, refinery industry
Desired:
Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance, FMEA reliability tools
Knowledge of instrumentation operation and maintenance
Knowledge of relevant codes and standards
Knowledge of SAP PM/ MM modules
Exposure in deploying best maintenance practices,
Understanding of energy conservation measures
Strong project management and troubleshooting capabilities
