Job Description- Process Engineer

Job Title: Process Engineer – Green Hydrogen

Business Unit: Green Hydrogen

Reporting To: Head – Process / Engineering / Projects

Location: Project Site / Corporate Office

Job Purpose

The Process Engineer – Green Hydrogen is responsible for process design, optimization, and technical execution of green hydrogen production systems, primarily based on electrolysis. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant operations across engineering, commissioning, and operational phases.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass and energy balances.

Design and optimize electrolysis-based hydrogen generation systems (ALK/PEM/SOEC).

Perform process simulations, equipment sizing, and utility calculations.

Review vendor drawings, datasheets, and technical documents.

Support basic, detailed engineering, and EPC project execution.

Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and HSE teams.

Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and process safety studies.

Ensure compliance with hydrogen safety standards, codes, and statutory regulations.

Support commissioning, start-up, and performance testing activities.

Troubleshoot process issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering / Process Engineering

Master's degree in chemical engineering / Energy Systems (preferred)

Certification in Process Safety / HAZOP is an added advantage

Experience Requirements

5–10 years of experience in process engineering roles

Experience in green hydrogen, electrolysis, oil & gas, chemical, or renewable energy projects

Exposure to EPC project execution and commissioning activities preferred

Key Skills & Competencies

Strong understanding of electrolysis and hydrogen systems

Process design, simulation, and optimization skills.

Knowledge of hydrogen safety standards and regulations

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary project teams
