Sr Engineer Electrical Design
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Design Architect - Industrial Automation to lead the electrical design and engineering development of advanced industrial automation and material handling systems. The role involves designing electrical architectures, power distribution systems, control panels, field instrumentation, and integrated automation solutions for warehouses, manufacturing plants, logistics facilities, and smart factory environments.
The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in industrial electrical systems, automation controls integration, industrial networking, and multidisciplinary project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical System Design
- Lead electrical design and architecture development for industrial automation systems including:
- Conveyor systems
- Robotics integration
- Material handling systems
- Sortation systems
- Automated warehouse solutions
- Industrial production systems
- Design electrical distribution systems, control panels, MCCs, VFD systems, and field wiring architecture.
- Develop electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts, IO lists, and BOMs.
- Define power requirements, load calculations, and electrical protection systems.
- Ensure proper integration between electrical, controls, software, and mechanical systems.
Automation & Controls Integration
- Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, and industrial network integration architecture.
- Define communication architecture using industrial protocols such as:
- Profinet
- Ethernet/IP
- Modbus
- OPC UA
- Coordinate with controls and software teams for system integration and interface management.
- Ensure compliance with automation safety and machine safety requirements.
Technical Leadership
- Lead and mentor electrical design engineers and drafting teams.
- Review electrical drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and technical evaluations.
- Support troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex electrical and automation issues.
- Establish electrical engineering standards and best practices.
Project Execution Support
- Support technical proposals, estimation, and project planning activities.
- Coordinate with procurement, manufacturing, panel builders, vendors, and installation teams.
- Provide technical support during assembly, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Ensure project deliverables are completed within schedule and budget.
- Assist FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) activities.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate and implement new electrical and automation technologies.
- Drive energy-efficient and sustainable electrical design practices.
- Support digital transformation and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
- Standardize electrical design methodologies and documentation processes.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related discipline.
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in electrical design for industrial automation, manufacturing, or material handling systems.
- Proven experience in leading electrical engineering design for large-scale automation projects.

- PMP or relevant engineering certifications are an advantage.
Working Conditions
- Office and industrial project-site environment.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Support during commissioning and project go-live activities may be necessary.
