Job Description
BIW Process Engineer
Key Responsibilities
Process Planning & Manufacturing Engineering
- Develop complete BIW assembly process plans for new vehicle programs.
- Define assembly sequences, process flow, and station allocation.
- Create manufacturing process sheets and operation standards.
- Conduct product manufacturability and process feasibility studies.
- Develop process concepts for Underbody, Framing, Closure, and Final BIW Assembly lines.
- Define joining strategies such as Spot Welding, MIG Welding, Laser Welding, Riveting, Clinching, and Adhesive Bonding.
Production System Development
- Prepare line layouts and equipment loading plans.
- Perform line balancing and manpower planning.
- Estimate cycle times and validate takt-time requirements.
- Define production capacity and throughput requirements.
- Support process optimization to improve productivity and reduce manufacturing costs.
