Job Purpose:
To lead and contribute to the design, engineering, and development of electrical systems for oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, client requirements, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute electrical design engineering activities for oil & gas projects from concept to detailed design.
- Prepare and review single line diagrams (SLDs), load lists, cable schedules, equipment specifications, and datasheets.
- Design and sizing of transformers, switchgears, MCCs, UPS, lighting, grounding, and protection systems.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS, NEC, ATEX/IECEx and other relevant industry standards.
- Perform short circuit, load flow, motor starting, and protection coordination studies using ETAP or similar software.
- Review vendor documents and coordinate with procurement and construction teams.
- Provide technical support during project execution, FAT, SAT, and commissioning stages.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (process, instrumentation, civil, mechanical) to ensure integrated project delivery.
- Mentor junior engineers and review their deliverables.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical design for oil & gas projects (EPC or consultancy background preferred).
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems design, safety standards, and industry codes.
- Proficiency in ETAP, AutoCAD, MS Office (knowledge of SmartPlant Electrical or similar tools is an advantage).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and deliver within deadlines.
