Job Description

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for Sr. Engineer of Advanced eCommerce Support responsibilities focus primarily on SAP Commerce Cloud and include maintaining the platform, optimizing site speed and reliability, monitoring site performance, troubleshooting issues, solving problems, documenting resolution and working with the SaaS supplier.

As a member of our Advanced Application Support team, you will be responsible to monitor and maintain the efficiency of our global Ecom applications. In this role, your duties will include reporting to the Senior Manager of IT Services, performing successful code migrations, provide IT support to our customers to help ensure maximum availability of Ecom websites.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure seamless customer experience focusing on the eCommerce platform enhancement and business requirements.
  • Consistently collaborate with product, supplier and operations team to evaluate and support business demands.
  • Provide support for the production and non-production instances of the eCommerce website in SAP Commerce Cloud & AWS, maximizing availability, optimizing website performance and scalability.
  • Consistent evaluation of site performance through monitoring and configuration tools.
  • Monitor and resolve critical alerts/incidents, troubleshoot failed scheduled jobs and monitor application health. Adherence to KPI/SLAs.
  • Troubleshoot bugs, outages, issues related to user accounts, storage, performance, application, and 3rd party APIs.
  • Ensure applications are up to date with the latest versions, and address security vulnerabilities promptly.
  • Liaise with vendor for business-critical incidents/requests and co-ordinate resolution.
  • Create automated scripts for WebLogic/Jboss domains.
  • Migrate codes across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality using CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and co-ordinate new projects.
  • Perform various maintenance tasks such as patching, upgrades, testing & code deployments including validations.
  • Collaborate with various IT teams and operations teams to resolve issues impacting customer experience.
  • Identify change approval requests, perform risk assessments ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation and system configurations.
  • Flexible working in night shifts and availability for on-call duty including weekends on a rotational shift basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and equivalent experience within an enterprise level corporate IT environment is required.
  • Three years of working Linux experience is required.
  • SQL and Windows experience is required.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other Office products is required.
  • Working knowledge on AWS fundamentals, Kubernetes and Dynatrace is highly preferred.
  • SAP Commerce Cloud experience is highly preferred.
  • Cloudflare experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Jenkins, JBoss, Tomcat and Ngnix is preferred.
  • IT support of other Business Applications, including SAP ERP, is preferred.
  • RHCA certificate is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)

  • Proficiency in installation and configuration of middleware application servers such as WebLogic/ Solr search/ JBoss EWS / wildfy and mod jk load balancer is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD methodologies including Jenkins and AWS code pipeline is highly preferred.
  • Convergent thinkers who analyze a high volume of technical data (the Log Files, Thread Dumps, JVM Dumps, Exception Stack Traces etc) and convert information into action are highly preferred.
