Company is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to support engineering operations. This role is responsible for performing detailed electrical engineering analysis, developing construction drawing packages, reviewing vendor documentation, and supporting multi discipline design efforts. The Senior Electrical Engineer will provide technical leadership across project phases, ensure compliance with applicable codes, and help deliver safe, constructible, and cost effective electrical designs for industrial clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of electrical engineering deliverables, including:
- One line diagrams
- Motor control schematics
- Power distribution layouts
- Arc flash and short circuit calculations
- Cable/conduit schedules
- Equipment specifications and data sheets
- Perform and review electrical system studies (load flow, coordination, fault analysis) using industry standard software.
- Develop and review specifications for electrical equipment (MCCs, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, lighting systems, etc.).
- Conduct field surveys to verify existing conditions and support constructability planning.
- Support procurement with technical evaluations, material take offs, and vendor data reviews.
- Participate in multi discipline reviews, model coordination, and squad checks to ensure design integration.
- Provide technical guidance to designers and junior engineers; support resource planning where needed.
- Coordinate with Project Managers to maintain schedule, budget, and scope alignment.
- Ensure all engineering work complies with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, and relevant industry codes/standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- 8–15 years of electrical engineering experience in industrial environments (Oil & Gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, or Chemical preferred).
- Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred; willingness to pursue licensure required.
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering standards, codes, and safety practices (NEC, NESC, NFPA 70E, IEEE standards).
- Experience preparing electrical studies and using tools such as:
- ETAP
- SKM
- EasyPower
- Experience developing electrical equipment specifications and reviewing vendor packages.
- Familiarity with Autodesk products and/or 3D model coordination is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- On site presence may be required depending on project needs.
