Job Summary
- Establish enterprise reliability priorities and roadmaps in partnership with product, platform, engineering, infrastructure, and business leaders
- Manages software engineering and SRE teams that design, build, and maintain technology products to unlock observability, resilience engineering, automation/AI ops, and operational excellence across all platforms.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships to ensure reliability requirements are embedded into architecture, design, delivery, and operations.
- Ensures the creation of standard operating procedures, objectives and key results, and overall operationalization of assigned services or applications across a portfolio of product groups.
- Leads a team in support of achieving the company's mission. Manages performance and fosters an inclusive environment to help associates achieve their potential.
- Drives end-to-end ownership of the technology solution.
- Ensures mechanisms are in place that allow teams to resolve production issues within defined service level agreements (SLAs); ensures that SLA breach issues do not recur.
- Establishes a sound and comprehensive testing strategy and ensures the team executes against this strategy consistently.
- Responsible for departmental budget and forecasting decisions and budget allocation; ensures technical solutions are delivered and maintained in a cost-effective manner.
- Partners with cross-functional leaders and enterprise architecture to ensure technology solutions built by the engineering team align to overall architectural and business standards.
- Influences and establishes sound engineering practices through solid design decisions and tools.
- Sets goals, strategies, budgets and oversees the deployment of large/enterprise scale initiatives and encourages a data-driven culture to improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of applications.
- Manages multiple portfolios of services or applications and provides resources in support of the applications by leveraging partnerships with technology teams, vendors, and business leaders
- Leads teams through all technology solution development phases by ensuring teams understand and adhere to company methodology, policies, standards, and controls; ensures team members are trained in SDLC methodologies, models, and processes
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, computer information systems (CIS), engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree) and 12 years of IT experience
- 12 years of experience in software engineering, site reliability engineering or related field
- 7 years of experience leading global technology teams with direct report responsibility
- 4 years of experience working closely with senior leadership
- 5 years of experience managing operational and/or financial budgets, including the managing of third-party vendors and/or software providers
- Experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of solutions applying development life cycles (SDLC)
Primary Skills
Strategic Reliability & Platform Leadership
- Ability to define and execute a multi-year reliability strategy across a large, heterogeneous enterprise environment.
- Experience establishing SLOs/SLA frameworks, error budgets, and business-aligned reliability goals.
- Proven track record driving cross-domain reliability improvements (e.g., e-commerce, store systems, distributed back-end platforms).Deep Expertise in
Modern Reliability Engineering
- Mastery of SRE principles, including observability, automation, chaos engineering, incident response and postmortem practices.
- Experience designing and scaling self-healing, resilient architectures across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
- Strong command of modern infrastructure stacks: Kubernetes, cloud services (GCP/AWS/Azure), service mesh, event-driven systems, CI/CD.
Engineering Automation & Tooling Vision
- Strong background in developer productivity and reliability tooling:
- Observability platforms (logging, metrics, tracing)
- Incident management tooling
- Chaos/Resilience frameworks
- Deployment and pipeline automation
- Ability to define the tooling strategy that unifies reliability engineering across digital, store, and enterprise systems.
Leadership - (Strong non-negotiable), handling overlaps across teams and bringing together to one team, positive culture, excellent communication skills, capable to front end Leadership teams
Secondary Skills
Extensive experience in largescale U.S. retail operations with a proven track record of managing and leading global, crossfunctional teams.
