Sr. Developer (offshore)

STAND 8 provides end-to-end IT solutions and staffing services to enterprise partners across North America, with operational presence in Mexico supporting a wide range of technology, engineering, and business roles.

Offshore plays a critical role in executing data transformation, migration, and monitoring activities within modern data platforms. This position focuses on converting legacy database logic into scalable dbt models, ensuring accurate data migration from Oracle to Snowflake, and maintaining data integrity across environments. The role contributes directly to data platform modernization by optimizing performance, improving reliability, and supporting continuous delivery of high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Rewrite legacy Oracle stored procedures and views into modular, scalable dbt models.
• Implement and maintain dbt tests (schema, unique, not_null) and ensure proper documentation using schema.yml for all migrated tables.
• Optimize SQL transformations to leverage Snowflake features such as micro-partitioning and clustering for improved performance and cost efficiency.
• Monitor data extraction and loading processes to ensure accurate staging prior to transformation.
• Perform data validation through row count reconciliation and checksum comparisons between source and target systems.
• Execute dbt workflows (dbt run, dbt test) across development and QA environments.
• Support migration efforts by ensuring consistency and reliability of transformed data prior to user acceptance testing.
• Continuously monitor pipelines and troubleshoot issues to maintain data integrity and system performance.

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience with dbt development and data transformation workflows.
• Strong experience working with Oracle databases and SQL-based transformations.
• Experience supporting data migration projects, particularly from Oracle to modern data platforms.
• Familiarity with ELT processes, data validation techniques, and pipeline monitoring.
• Strong communication skills in English.

Preferred (Optional):

• Experience working with Snowflake data platform.
• Familiarity with performance tuning and query optimization techniques.
• Experience with Dev and QA environment management.
• Experience with data modeling and warehouse design concepts.
