Responsible for design and engineering of Chiller Plant Room
Apply the pipe design concepts to prepare the layout of the Plant Room, size up pipe work, and use standards of drawing practice in both AutoCAD (2D) and RIVET (3D) modelling
Prepare schedules of valves, pipe quantity takeoff, fittings, and basic electrical layout necessary to complete the Plantroom design for greenfield as well as retrofit works
Prepare RIVET models for major equipment like chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and other auxiliary items to create the database for drawing library
Detail and validate engineering details of Plant room
Prepare HVAC heat load using software, pump head calculations, basics of HVAC design concepts, HVAC design calculations, insulation selections, valve sizing, and schedule of valves for high side of the plant room
Estimate the BOQ quantity and costing for the plant room offerings, interact with SCM and vendors to get the best price
Optimize quantity and costing to meet the target prices required to win the project
Ensure proper compliance required for presales and post-sales activities based on project technical requirements and specifications
Apply compliance as per local codes and maintain the standard of deliverables
Ensure JCI is responsible for design of plant room, supply of equipment (chillers/pumps/cooling towers with associated piping), commissioning, and performance contracts for selected cases
Maintain engineering integrity of all projects, ensure quality, technical, administrative, and financial requirements are met
Monitor, assess, record, and report status, issues, risks, and activities regarding project objectives
How you will do it
As the chiller plant room designer, use in-depth experience to prepare the best schematic and design layout & provide standard output drawings in AutoCAD (2D) and RIVET (3D)
Prepare drawing models (AutoCAD & RIVET) for equipment required to complete the drawing
Apply structural design concepts required for plant room supports for both mechanical and electrical works
Collaborate with the MEP, HVAC clients, consultants, sales, and delivery teams to gather basic information and design the plant room
Gain detailed insight into the existing plans through a thorough review of existing drawings, heat load analyses, MEP design specifications
Prepare technical data sheets for equipment, interact with vendors, clear queries, and submit to client/consultants
Estimate BOQ and costing for plant room works and optimize quantity and costing
Coordinate with internal and external customers/stakeholders as applicable to review and/or prepare detailed designs of chiller plant rooms and low side air conditioning systems
Establish and maintain a high level of quality design functionality for maximum customer retention
Prepare quality checklists, drawing output checklists, and maintain overall QA/QC documentation of presales and post-sales activities
Design/section of chiller plant systems and equipment, including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, piping, etc.
Possess basic knowledge of CPM, plant sequencing, and its controls to interact more with the controls team of the plant room
