Sr. DBA Professional

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Management and OptimizationAdminister, configure, and maintain relational and/or non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and resource monitoring.Implement and maintain database maintenance plans, including backups, statistics updates, and consistency checks.
• Security and Compliance Manage user access and roles following the principle of least privilege.
• Ensure databases comply with internal data security policies and external regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Perform audits, track changes, and implement data encryption and masking where necessary.
• High Availability and Disaster Recovery Design and implement high-availability database solutions including clustering, replication, and failover. Develop and test backup and disaster recovery plans.
• Ensure minimal downtime by proactively monitoring health and performance of databases.
• Support and Collaboration Work closely with software developers, DevOps engineers, data analysts, and system architects.
• Provide support for database design during development projects. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, including corruption, slow queries, deadlocks, and connectivity errors.
• Monitoring and Reporting Use tools like Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL Profiler, SolarWinds, or Nagios to monitor systems.
• Generate performance, security, and usage reports for stakeholders. Develop custom scripts for monitoring, automation, and alerting.
