Responsible for defining, supporting, implementing, and perfecting the architecture
and processes of the product and platforms required to meet business goals and aims
Requirements
- 6+ years of relevant experience into Postgres & SQL
- Experience in Cloud Architecture e.g. AWS / Azure, etc.
- Solid Experience and Understanding of DB architecture & implementations
- Experience and Knowledge in MongoDB will be an added advantage
Duties and Responsibilities
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/KRAs/KPIs
- Installing your PostgreSQL Software
- Creating PostgreSQL Databases
- Managing the PostgreSQL Cluster
- Estimate PostgreSQL database capacities; develop methods for monitoring
database capacity and usage.
- Support, administer and maintain database environments running MongoDB
LUW
- Develop procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention,
reducing any need downtime.
- Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Vacuum, Reindexing,
Archiving).
- Managing Database Storage Structures
- Administering User Security
- Managing Data Concurrency
- Managing Undo Data
- Implementing Database Auditing
- Database Maintenance
- Performance Management
- Responsible for query tuning
- Backup and Recovery Concepts
- Performing Database Backups
- Performing Database Recovery
- Moving Data
- Patch Management
- Experience with database migrations to PostgreSQL will be an added advantage
- Good communication skills
- Good time management skills
- Migration experience from other database technologies to Postgres would be
advantageous.
