WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Job summary:

The Data Integration Analyst is responsible for defining and analysing data integration requirements to ensure consistent, accurate, and efficient data flow across multiple systems. This role focuses on understanding business needs, analysing source and target systems, and translating requirements into detailed data mapping and transformation on logic. The analyst works closely with data engineers, who implement and maintain data pipelines, to ensure that integration solutions align with business rules and data quality standards..

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements and translate them into data integration specifications
• Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships, and dependencies
• Define source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and data flow logic
• Define and maintain data lineage across systems
• Ensure traceability of data from source to target
• Create and maintain detailed mapping documents and transformation specifications
• Perform data analysis to validate data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
• Conduct impact analysis for upstream and downstream system changes
• Define data quality rules and validation criteria
• Support data profiling and anomaly detection
• Collaborate with data engineers to support the implementation of ETL/ELT pipelines
• Provide functional specifications and clarify transformation logic during development
• Support testing, validation, and reconciliation of integrated data
• Investigate data issues and support root cause analysis by providing data insights
• Document data flows, integration logic, and standards
• Ensure timely delivery of tasks aligned with SLAs and project timelines.

Required Skills

• 8 – 12 years of experience in Data Integration or Data integration analysis or related roles
• Strong understanding of data integration concepts and data warehousing principles
• Advanced proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation
• Proven experience in defining data mappings and transformation logic
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working with relational databases (e.g.: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL etc.) and modern cloud-based data platforms (e.g.: Snowflake, Databricks, Big Query etc.)
• Familiarity with APIs and data formats such as JSON and XML
• Strong documentation skills with high attention to detail
• Ability to translate business requirements into clear technical specifications
• Experience working in agile / scrum delivery environments

Preferred Skills

• Basic scripting skills for automation (ex: Python, Shell etc.)
• Experience in data integration or data engineering projects
• Understanding of data modelling and data architecture principles
• Exposure to data streaming, and real-me data integration concepts

Role Scope and Boundaries

• This role focuses on defining and analyzing data integration logic rather than building data pipelines Works closely with data engineers who are responsible for pipeline development and maintenance and with the testers in validating the testing results
• Responsible for ensuring business requirements are accurately translated into data transformations and data flows
• Plays a key role in ensuring data quality, consistency, and alignment across systems
